2008 Surprise team in the NFL?

Every year there is a team that comes out of nowhere and has a great season...

this year who do you think that team will be?

My Pick: KC Chiefs

This team only won four games last year but hit the jackpot in the draft. The added defense, the sweet home field advantage, and the improved defense will get them to the promised land, and they will have 5-6 wins more than last year

Who is your surprise team?

Could you include Cleveland as a surprise team if they win the AFC North? I doubt it because they nearly made the playoffs last year. But that would be my first pick.

As for the Chiefs: Their defense is solid, the only thing that bothers me about the Chiefs is Herm Edwards. He had his chances with the Jets and was always too conservative. That would serve the Chiefs right since their strength is not at the quarterback position. This is a team that will need to grind them out on both sides of the ball. Which always works well for a football team...

Let's just watch and see if Herm will be conservative in this situation (that is, now that he should be conservative).

I really like the Chiefs as a suprise team this year as well. I wouldn't consider Cleveland as much of a suprise team as they have been showing steady improvement over the last several years and have a great young nucleus with Anderson/Quinn, Winslow, and Edwards.

But, for me, the suprising, bold prediction that I am willing to make is stating that New Orleans is going to win the NFC. The Saints are as talented on the offensive side of the ball as any team in football. Ever since that NFC championship game in Chicago, things have been sliding. I think they turn them around this year with a healthy Deuce McCallister and an improving defense.
