Default Steelers at Rams Pick and Preview

NFL Bettting Preview
Pittsburgh Steelers (9-5) at St. Louis Rams (3-11)
Thursday, 8:15 pm Eastern – NFL Network

SBG Global Current Line: Steelers - 9 , Total 45.5

The Pittsburgh Steelers suddenly look vulnerable in the AFC as they are coming off two straight losses. They are now tied with Cleveland at the top of the AFC North but they hold the tiebreaker against the Browns. If the Steelers win their last two games they will clinch the division. Their chances of doing that should be pretty good considering they play two last place teams starting with the St. Louis Rams on Thursday. They finish with the Baltimore Ravens. SBG Global reports that early NFL betting has the public taking Steelers on the Road.

Pittsburgh is coming off a 29-22 loss to Jacksonville at home Sunday and that is one week after getting thumped by New England 34-13. Another problem for Pittsburgh is that they have not been entirely focused when playing some of the worst teams in the league. They have lost games against Arizona, Denver and the Jets. "Do we feel good about where we are right now? Absolutely not," said Pittsburgh coach Mike Tomlin, "That's the mental toughness of this game - you have to stay singularly focused and in the tunnel. Every team faces trials and tribulations."

SBG Global Current Line: Steelers -7.5 , Total 43.5

The Steelers will try and contain Rams running back Steven Jackson, who has rushed for 862 yards and five touchdowns this season. Jackson had 143 yards last week in the loss to Green Bay. The Steelers will also have to stop quarterback Marc Bulger who has been in and out of the Rams lineup with injuries this season. The major problem for the Rams has been a defense that has been terrible. They rank 27th in the NFL in scoring defense, allowing 24.9 points per game. They will be facing a Pittsburgh offense that is averaging 23.6 points per game. The two teams have not played since 2003 when St. Louis won 33-21 at Pittsburgh.

Here are the NFL betting stats for Thursday’s game. The Steelers are 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games in December. The Steelers are 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games on turf. The Steelers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a favorite. The Steelers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 road games.

The Rams are 5-1 ATS in their last 6 games in December. The Rams are 2-5 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog. The Rams are 3-9 ATS in their last 12 home games. The Rams are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games as a home underdog.

The Under is 4-1 in the Steelers last 5 games overall. The Under is 4-1 in the Steelers last 5 road games. The Over is 5-1 in the Rams last 6 games as a home underdog. The Over is 4-1 in the Rams last 5 games in December.

Just leans on this one.

Rams and Over

I think the Rams can keep this one close and this will make them try and win. The rams have big play ability to do so. But if the Steelers jump out in front its all she wrote Rams will pack it in and fast.

This game looks too easy. Steelers arent the same on the road and there defense looks looose. I should stay away but I am a degenerate. Give me an average play on the Rams ML and hope for the upset.
