Key line moves Green Bay Packers at St. Louis Rams: +10 to +7 ½ (line history)
Oddsmakers quickly adjusted the pointspread after a midweek report hinted Rams starting quarterback Marc Bulger would play against the Packers. The two-time Pro Bowler missed the last two weeks due to lingering effects from a concussion.
Bulger has been banged up for most of the season but was starting to play better before the head injury. St. Louis has won two of the last three games hes started.
The Packers are an elite team but its hard to bet against the Rams at home with Bulger, Steven Jackson and Torry Holt all healthy especially when the club is getting 7 ½-points.
New York Jets at New England Patriots: -25 to 21 (line history)
No line moves report is complete without mentioning New England. The heavily favored Patriots are expected to punish the Jets for blowing the whistle on New Englands sign-stealing technique.
The pointspread is narrowing due to a heavy snowfall warning. Bettors are taking the points thinking the game will be closer because of messy conditions. The total, originally set at 47, is now as low as 41 at some books.
Atlanta Falcons at Tampa Bay Buccaneers: -10 to 12 ½ (line history)
Bookmakers scrambled to adjust this line after Bobby Petrino resigned as head coach of the Falcons on Tuesday. Earlier this week the Bucs were giving as many as 14 points with some books.
The Atlanta players never meshed with Petrino and they had some harsh words for their former coach after his announcement. The Falcons may come up with an inspired performance under the direction of interim coach Emmitt Thomas.
It would send a great message to everyone of what were not missing, Falcons middle linebacker Keith Brooking told the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
The Bucs will have starter Jeff Garica in the lineup again. The 37-year-old quarterback missed the last two weeks of action because of a sore back.
