| NFL Info and Line Moves Line Moves Arizona Cardinals at Washington Redskins: -7 to -8 ½
Cardinals starting quarterback Kurt Warner could start Sunday against the Redskins despite torn ligaments in his non-throwing elbow.
“I'm not getting hit and thrown around, but it felt good,” Warner told reporters. “Hopefully, when you are working with a brace, you work out some of that irritation. Maybe I can do something on Sunday.”
The Cardinals recently signed quarterbacks Tim Rattay and Tim Hasselback to replace Warner if he is unable to play.
The possibility that either a less-than-100 percent Warner, or a struggling perennial backup, could start for the Cardinals has the line moving from Washington -7 to -8 ½.
Rattay relieved Warner in last Sunday’s 25-10 loss to the Carolina Panthers. He completed 12-of-24 passes for 159 yards, with no touchdowns and three interceptions. Hasselback, conversely, has not thrown an NFL pass since the 2004 campaign. St. Louis Rams at Seattle Seahawks: -9 to -9 ½
Rams quarterback Marc Bulger has seen enough from the sidelines this season. The veteran signal-caller will start for the 0-6 Rams on Sunday against the Seahawks despite two broken ribs.
“Yeah, I'm playing,” Bulger told reporters. “I'm ready now after standing around for two weeks. They definitely feel a little better, but I haven't been hit.”
A number of sportsbooks have moved the line from -9 to -8 ½ following Bulger’s announcement. His return will also take some pressure off the Rams’ ground attack, which will be without star running back Stephen Jackson for a third straight contest.
Gus Frerotte, Bulger’s backup, threw five interceptions and lost a fumble in Sunday's 22-3 loss to the Baltimore Ravens. He has thrown eight interceptions in the last two weeks as the Rams’ starter. Atlanta Falcons at New Orleans Saints: -9 to -8
It’s become an all too familiar story for Joey Harrington. Falcons coach Bobby Petrino, who named Harrington his starter in the offseason, has decided to start recent free-agent acquisition Byron Leftwich against New Orleans.
“One thing about playing quarterback is that a lot of times when things aren't going good, all 11 guys on the field play a part of it,” Petrino told reporters Friday. “But you know, in this business, that the quarterback is the one you change.”
Bettors, evidently, agree that the Falcons’ quarterback change improves their chance against the Saints. The Saints dropped from a nine-point favorite to an eight-point favorite at most sportsbooks since Friday’s announcement.
Harrington has thrown over 1,200 yards with four touchdowns and four interceptions this season. He has a career record of 24-48.
Leftwich has thrown for 28 yards and an interception in two games this season.
