Strange week winning only two of six games, but only losing a little over a half unit. I guess I got lucky and won both best bets, that made a big difference. I am having a pretty decent college football season. My best bets are rolling along at a 67% clip. The college football season is slowly coming to a close, I am going to hate to see it end. I don’t have a very good history in bowl games. Lets try this again.
I took a pass on the Bowling Green/Toledo game, I kept going back and forth. I am also taking a pass on the Miami-Fla/Boston College game. BC just looks too easy, I would not be shocked to see a Miami SU win, but I am not putting money on it.
I am just doing all the Friday and Saturday games together in one post.
E Carolina +3 vs NC State (best bet)……………NC State lost to a pretty bad N Carolina team last week. I think they just want to get their season over with at this point. Been a while since NC State had a record this bad. East Carolina simply the better team here, so I will happily grab the three points. Home field the only thing going for State this weekend, and it is not enough.
Oklahoma St +6 vs Oklahoma (best bet)………I will have to give the sooners a lot of credit this year being 9-2. They have overcome many injuries and just keep on winning. I have been waiting for them to lose and I think this is the week. State plays very well at home and of course this is rivalry week. My gut tells me this game goes down to the final minute. This could make Okie States whole season upsetting the Sooners.
Oregon State -3 vs Oregon (strong play)………At first you would think Oregon is the better team, but not at this point in the season. Oregon has really fallen apart recently, while State might be flying a little under the radar right now. I just get the feeling Oregon State is going to blow them out this week. State is going to kick Oregon while they are down and win by at least 14.
Clemson -5.5 vs S Carolina (strong play)……………Clemson was a machine at home earlier in the year just destroying everybody. People have sort of forgotten about them. They are a pretty decent team at 8-3 playing an average 6-5 team on the road and we only have to lay less than a touchdown. I smell a blowout this week. These teams don’t like each other and if either one would get a chance to blow the other one out, they will. My gut tells me this one won’t be close.
My next two plays are regular plays, and I am playing the MAC conference. I am combining my write ups as they are similar.
Kent +3 vs Ball State
W Michigan +2 Akron
I just feel in both games the wrong team is favored. You have teams with winning records getting points vs teams with losing records. Usually I go the other way in these kind of games, but my gut says no this week. I know this will not go worse than 1-1 and I might get lucky and win them both. Both will not lose.
OPINIONS (just for fun, no units)
Utah +11 vs BYU…………Byu is so due to play a close game. These two don’t like each other. Utah was supposed to be real good this year, so this game is everything to them. Nice home doggie here.
Pitt +11.5 vs Louisville…………If Pitt can only play like they did the first half vs W Virginia. Coach Dave might be playing to save his job. Pitt either wins outright or loses by 30 this week. I say they win outright.
Georgia Tech +2 vs Georgia…………Before last week everybody was talking about how bad Georgia was, that they really sucked. Don’t let last weeks upset fool you. They really do suck.
There you have it. The last full week of college football. Only a handful of games next week. I went by mostly gut instincts this week and I feel pretty good about these plays.
