| bigdaddyrich week 2 ncaa banging 2 lines right now before they move...so i will go ahead and post them.
cal -8: this cal team got blown up in front of the whole country last week. if that is not motivation to come back and work hard in practice...listen to the coaches...and come out week 2 at home looking to beat the hell outta someone...then i dont know what is. it is clear that they have the talent to beat minny at home on any day of the week...but now they got the motivation to wanna destroy them and make a statement. nothing like getting humiliated on tv and hearing it from friends and family and fellow students all week to get your head screwed on straight.
stanford -8: got to watch both of these teams games on replay. bad as the stanford loss looked...and as hopeful as the san jose close loss looked for that program...not even close as far as talent and where these 2 teams are at this point. there were a few teams that i watched last week where i was waiting to see their spreads this week thinking i might find a value based on the scores of their week 1 games. actually i had 5 of them...but these are the 2 i like best after seeing the lines and wanna get my money in before the spreads move away from me. will have a few more later in the week...but i have already bet these 2. gotta get down to business and start making money...so i doubt if i bet or pick either of the weeknight games. dont really see anything in either game. the cal game is my pod week 2...which i will list every week. 5-7-1 week 1. |

The Tennessee game was a debaucle and I recall the Texas Tech bowl game being the same exact thing. My thoughts here are Cal is going to win, but it will be a tighter game as Minn can keep things close. Should be a good game - GL with your pick! |

| see...that is what i mean about value from week 1 scores. this is the same cal team a lot of really good football people thought might run the table. playing at tennessee...if they get it rolling...that could happen to ANY team in the country. i was all over tennessee last week over cal...but that was just because it was the first game and it is so tough to play there. minny lost their outstanding back from last year...and russell is out now too. just see cal as the better team by a mile...and you will see a much more focused and intense effort from them. been wrong before...7 times week 1...lol...but this is at least a 3 td blowout. |

| ok...just had to look around right quick and give you the scoop on these 2 teams. i dont bet any game based solely on emotion factor from a loss. i just dont have the time to do the long writeups i used to do. cal is returning on o from a very good team the entire backfield and rec corps. this is minus the qb...but plus the parade all-american qb who was the starter earlier before an ankle injury. they are loaded man...thus all the preseason hype. also have what most publications were calling the best d-front in the country...a very tough lbacker corps...and the best 2 cbs in the pac 10. you got the team who was expected to battle usc for the pac 10 title against a minny team not even expected to contend in the big 10...with the better team at home and angry from being humiliated. this line was set expecting the thought process you used in the above post from the public. cal got blown up at tennessee...minny rolled a weaker team...minny is gonna travel accross the country and compete at cal. cal is clearly the better team...and 8 points is a value. once again...my opinion...and i respect yours as well. gotta go to work and then i think i am out of town til friday. i will holla at you all later. |

| Hmmmm -
Cal is the better team and I drank that "Kool-Aid" the media was handen out and Cal got butchered, by a very average by SEC standards team that is going to LOOSE to Florida again.
I'm going to hold off on this game a while longer. This team couldn't beat UCLA remember and UCLA spotted them like what 2 touchdowns?
Minn brings a soild running game, average QB/WR's and decent defence. They had Purdue BEAT and covered and gave up a few late scores to kill my Parlay...
I think Minn is overmatched a bit here as I feel the Top 3 teams in the PAC 10 are better than just about everybody in the Big Ten but maybe Michigan.
Unless your a SOLID team THROWING the football, your going to LOOSE vs a good PAC 10 squad.
Cupido is just AVERAGE, the WR's just AVERAGE and the Tight Ends, just AVERAGE. No NFL talent here. There game is running the ball to setup the pass.
That won't work vs Cal, but really... I don't trust Cal. I need a week to see if that game was just a fluke or are they really OVERATED this season (like the last 3).
I would lean towards Cal like you said, but.... |

| the heart and soul of that minny running game last year is gone...and the backup that was pretty good is hurt. i am sure being a big 10 school and all that they can still run the ball...but my point is the team you watched against purdue last year is no more. this is a very different minny team. i actually follow both of these teams because i was born and raised in cali...and my sister lives in minny and i have been to 2 of their games. and i agree that tennessee is not even top 3 in the sec...but for a cal team that has never been in an environment like that it would be a tough place to play...hell it is tough for the teams that play there every year. i have been to a lot of ncaa football games through the years all over the place...and there is a huge difference between playing at ucla or usc and playing at tennessee or bama. i was on tennessee mainly for that reason last week...because i thought it was gonna be a huge shock to cal and that if tennessee got it rollin early and got those rednecks all jacked up then it was gonna be orange hillbilly hell for cal. i will go ahead and leave it at that as far as this game goes. people have different opinions and should bet what they feel comfortable with...as it is their money. i just saw the reply to my post and realized that i didnt go into much depth as to why i liked cal so much in this game. i usually include a lot of stats and such in long writeups for my games...but work is crazy right now and i havent had much time. thanks for all the replys and thoughts. still lovin cal as my pod in a beating of 3 tds or more. |

| I just got caught up in this thread and had to respond. The pac 10 had USC and that is it. Other than USC, Almost half of the Big 10 (OSU, MICH, IOWA, PENN ST, Hell maybe MICH ST) will whip anybody in the Pac 10. You west coast boys are soft. You will see |

| just to set the record straight...i am not a pac 10 guy. i follow some of the west coast teams because i grew up there...but i live in stillwater, oklahoma and love the big 12. and as good as you think the big 10 is...you cant really believe that minny is on the same level as cal. as far as the other big 10 teams whipping so and so from the pac 10...i dont care because they aint playin this week and i aint got money on em...lol.
colorado +2: if i caught this much for betting what is clearly the better team in the cal game then i am gonna hear it bigtime for this one...lol. looking to make a little change on the moneyline on this game too if the spread grows as it should. all through the off season i heard how much hawkins was throwing at the offensive players for colorado...and that how well they grasped this and how quickly would determine how their season went. after week one i would guess that they didnt come around as quickly as he would have liked...that was a pathetic loss. from what i am hearing they are gonna water down the o a little and run a little more this week...and there should be no problems with motivation as it is csu coming in. they return most all of the main components from what was a very stout buffs d last season...and as hard as it might be to believe after seeing that week one score they do have some pretty good talent on o. i love this game. colorado gets beat by a d-2 team...humiliated...and now they are only a 2 point dog to colo state. why is that?...because colorado is the better team from top to bottom at home after the worst loss in school history. not sure they are good enough to blow csu out of the water...but i am fairly positive that they will find a way to win this game.
louisiana state -15: had the misfortune of having money on stoops and co last week and having to sit through the zona game...one of the most poorly played games i have ever seen. that zona qb couldnt hit the broad side of a freaking barn. the picks he threw looked more like they were intended for the byu defenders than his own team...and byu even dropped like 4 thrown right at them. i can place this bet with confidence solely on that horrible display i watched last week without even looking hard at lsu. zona d is pretty good...but i think they would have to hold lsu under 20 to cover this spread.
cal -8...pod
stanford -8
colorado +2
lsu -15
looking hard at indiana -3 and texas tech -7...but havent decided yet. the 4 games above are already bet. |

| I was directing those comments to djmonie. No prob bigdaddy.......I like the LSU pick too.
I am also liking Auburn this week -20. They are on the road, but MS ST looked awful last week. I think Auburn runs through this one easy.
I also like Oregon giving 4 to Fresno St. Oregon lost a close one last year by 3 but I think they get them back this year and cover the 4. I might put a little on the over 54. I won with their total last weekend.
Good luck bigdaddy! |
