| boy...this is some bad football being played in the zona game. guess i need 3 more fgs for the cover...lol. really thought stoops would have those guys ready to go...but they have wasted chance after chance to take control of this game. also...dead wrong on the oklahoma game. sitting at 3-1 for the day and hoping for zona to decide they wanna play the 2nd half. be back after the game with a pick or 2 for tomm. actually get to watch the games tomm. just thoughts on what i did see today tho: usc, texas, and ohio state...still the cream of the crop. they all own their conferences...each having one big rivalry game that they should win. texas\ohio state next week could in all reality determine who usc plays in the title game. like i said earlier...i hate usc and will be rooting for them to drop a game all year. just dont see anyone really capable right now. also...these teams playing high school teams week one is pathetic. they cant even blow em out for the most part...and colorado even lost. a loss to a national contender looks better than a 23-10 win over the sisters of the poor in my opinion. i say cudos to those teams who actually played someone today...and all those teams will be better for it entering conference play. just watched this zona qb throw another pick. he is really bad because these picks are thrown right at defenders. then byu looks like they are trying to not score a td...just pathetic football by what looks to be 2 bet against teams this year. |

| 4-4 ncaa football after a 3-2 day. stoops bros shafted me all the way around...lol. tomm i am betting very small because i think the spreads are pretty much right on.
ole miss -3: very even teams with questions on both sides. i think ole miss is a 3 point fav pretty much just because they are at home...which is why i like them. also the fact that this has turned into a big game for miss this year instead of just a series they have always dominated...with memphis winning 2 of the last 3. also...memphis lost their heart and soul from last year.
baylor +6.5: smart money is prolly on tcu in a blowout...but i am not always on the smart money side since i use feeling more than numbers a lot. baylor has stepped it up as of late and looks like they actually want to become a program again and not just a doormat. huge game for that football program...maybe the biggest in the history of baylor. top 25 team coming in 1st off that is prolly not one of the top 25 best teams in america in all honesty. gonna lay it out there and say that baylor not only comes in under the spread but wins the game outright. once again...smart money is on tcu so no tears outta anyone who takes this leap with me. if you are waiting for a game to bet your house or kids on then i think i would wait for a better situation...lol.
kentucky +22.5: spread is prolly pretty much right on as far as talent level and all. over 3 tds might be a bit much tho. once again...just banking on what was once a very proud kentucky program to step it up against the local bully and give em a fight.
prolly looking at 4-7 after tomm folks...considering i got blasted on this days games last year...lol. anyways...those are my plays. hope everyone had a good day today. i noticed earlier today where someone called out oregon very strongly...and i almost bet it before work. very good call to whoever that was because it was one of the easiest winners of the day. |

| dont know what is gonna happen in either of these games...but feeling better after watching a little of both. ole miss looks to be the better team and should pull it out. thought the tcu d might have problems with this o...but the batlor d has been a nice surprise. if someone doesnt tell tcu that they need to bring pressure to mess with this spread o then their d is gonna spend a lot of time on the field. love this o for baylor tho no matter what happens. evens it out a little and gives them a chance to do some things. |

| said i was prolly looking at 4-7 after yesterday...well i wasnt far off. 4-6-1...lol. feel i was right on the ole miss and baylor game...tho it didnt work out...and really wrong on the kentucky game. 2 small plays tonight to even up my record going into week 2 when i will start to unload a little more and not bet so small. congrat's to any who had a good start...week 1 is always tough. there were a few gems out there week one which i missed...but i see a lot of them were posted in this forum. i just didnt have the time this year to dig in deep and do the kind of studying it would take to make solid calls on kids i have never seen playing before...thus the warnings and small bets. i also study games earlier in the season do determine my picks...so week 1 is never any good for me. anyways on to tonights loser...lol. i heard herbie on espn saying that the nation is gonna find out how good the canes are tonight and that they might be the best team in the country...but i think he got mixed up and took the wrong team...lol. florida state only returns 5 on each side...but dont be fooled. this was such a young team last year...and i think it was like over 20 freshman and redshirt freshman played last year and were able to contribute. all those guys are back...older and game experience. miami is letdown after letdown under coker...never living up to what they should be. so many great games in this series determined by a kick...give me the better team and more than a fg and i am on it. florida state +4. also think that if you are on miami then you have to expect that great d to pitch a near shutout...so you are on the under...or should be. since i like florida state i am taking the over 38 because i expect them to move the ball...and i dont think that fsu d is gonna blank miami. special teams td and defensive td is likely...so that helps boost the total. anyways those are my plays:
florida state +4...outright winner
over 38 |

| As always will come down to the end. Miami offense ?? are the only thing that scares me as a fan I am hopeful our defense can help setup the offense but my gut says other. On Miami because I have to be but should be fun!

| actually rooting for the canes to punch this one in the endzone...crazy as it may sound. just to get the scoring started. fsu cant win a 10-7 type game against these guys from what i see...gotta be like a 31-24 type game. fsu d cant hold up. also...need a little motivation for bobby to open up the playbook. wont happen as long as we are in a d struggle. |

| this is just pathetic football. going to have a beer...cant watch no more. one game each year the media makes the miami d out to be this monster that nobody can do anything against. are they good?...yes. are they this good?...no way. florida state is playing scared. miami d will give up points this year...just like they did last year...but not in this game as long as fsu is scared to open up the playbook and back them up. now they start to open it up as i write this. at this point i dont really care if they cover or not...already pissed. we cant hold our block for more than a second and they are bringing the whole d to stop the run...lets pitch it out and run outside. well...our back just got destroyed for a 7 yard loss. maybe we should run a slow developing draw play...oh wait, he got blown up again. now that it is 3rd and 20 we can drop back and throw deep. stupid. throw the ball down the damn field and back that miami d up a little. |

| yeah...these things are always like 14-13...dont know why i was on the over. just thought fsu would have to have a mini-shootout to win. wasnt so much great d as just 2 really good ds taking advantage of bad and predictable os. seemed like both teams were not playing to make the big play on o...but playing not to make the huge mistake on o that took em out of the game. i guess that is cool...but it makes for boring football. after watching that game i dont think either of these teams are top 5 teams...tho either could be by the end of the season if they put it together. the over 38 wasnt as far off as it seemed watching that game. any time either team went deep is was one on one. neither team really tried to exploit it tho. oh well...time to move on to week 2. 5-7-1 really sucks...but it is nothing i wont overcome and have a good year. congrats to anyone who had a good start. talk to you guys later on. |
