The Seminoles and Hurricanes square off in the Orange Bowl on Monday, Sept. 4, in a game that is critical for both teams goals of winning the ACC title.
Head coach Bobby Bowden is hoping to improve the Seminoles offensive attack, which only ranked #59 in 2005.
Sophomore QB Drew Weatherford hopes to put a shaky freshmen season behind him, and the Noles will need Weatherford to step up if they want to be successful.
Miami finished 2005 ranked #17 in the polls, but ended the year on a down note by getting drubbed 40-3 by LSU in the Peach Bowl.
Miami has five starters returning on offense, including QB Kyle Wright and TE Greg Olsen.
The Canes defense should again be dominant, as seven starters return for the 2006 season including stud safety Brandon Meriweather.
College football bettors should look for the Canes to be slight favorites at home against Florida State
