Default Poinsettia Bowl Betting Preview

Poinsettia Bowl Betting Preview
Navy (8-4) vs. Utah (8-4)
Thursday, 9:00 pm Eastern – ESPN

SBG GlobalCurrent Line: Utah - 11.5 , Total 68

The college football bowl season begins on Thursday in San Diego as Navy plays Utah in the Poinsettia Bowl. Both teams finished the season at 8-4 but Utah looks like the stronger team, especially since Navy lost their head coach, Paul Johnson to Georgia Tech. SBG Globalreports that early college football betting has the public taking Navy on the Road.

Utah comes into the game having won 7 of their last 8 games, led by quarterback Brian Johnson. The Utes nearly won their last game against BYU but the Cougars scored late to thwart Utah. The Utes have a stout defense that ranks third in the country allowing only 15.6 points per game.
Conversely, Navy has a rotten defense that allows 36.5 points per game. The good news for Navy is that they have an offense that can score points, especially on the ground. They averaged 351 yards per game on the ground. Seven players ran for more than 460 yards this season. Starting QB Kaipo-Noa Kaheaku-Enhada was injured late in the season but did play in the last game against Army. He was Navy’s leading rusher on the season.

SBG GlobalCurrent Line: Utah - 7.5 , Total 65
