NBA Seattle vs. New Jersey
Take New Jersey Nets
The Nets will be without their second-leading scorer in Jefferson (16.5 PPG) but Vince Carter (29.8-5.6-4.6) has been taking up the slack, topping 30-points in each of his last three games. Kidd is off his second triple-double of the season (77th of his career) and is averaging 13.0-9.0-8.4 on the year. Center Krstic (14.6-8.2) continues to improve and while the Nets have little depth, that isn't a big deal vs the Sonics, who have the same problem. Of course there are Allen (26 PPG) and Lewis (23 PPG) but not much more for the Sonics. PG Ridnour (13.4-6.4 APG) is off to a good start and PF Wilcox (11.0-91.) has been a nice surprise but it's not good news that Lewis has averaged just 13.7 PPG in 15 career games vs the Nets. The Nets have won five of the last six meetings with the Sonics in the Meadowlands, shooting 50.8% while outscoring Seattle by an average of 10 PPG. The Sonics enter this game on a modest two-game road winning streak but haven't won three in a row away from home since March 2005. Lay the points with New Jersey. |
