Pick ‘n’ Roll: Today's best NBA bets
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Utah Jazz at Cleveland Cavaliers
After a loss in Boston on Wednesday, Jazz guard Deron Williams called his team "soft."
"We're soft. And there's no way around it," Williams told Boston.com. "We're not playing tough at all."
The numbers bear that out. On the road, the Jazz are 1-3 straight up and 0-4 against the spread, squeezing out a win over the lowly Knicks to start their current four-game road trip, which ends here.
Already nursing an injury, Williams - who leads the team in scoring and assists - missed Friday's game at Philadelphia and could miss this one, having left the team to deal with a personal matter.
Whether Williams plays or not, this matchup has not been good to the Jazz. The Cavaliers have covered the last 10 meetings, winning eight outright.
Cleveland also appears to have gotten past its early season slump, winning and covering its last three games.
Pick: Cleveland
Golden State Warriors at Milwaukee Bucks
Is there a bigger three-ring circus in the NBA than the Warriors?
Coach Don Nelson is alienating players at an alarming rate. On Wednesday, Nelson said before a loss to Indiana that swingman Stephen Jackson had a hip injury. After the game, Nelson said Jackson had a sore back.
In between, Jackson, who repeatedly has asked for a trade since the start of training camp, told a reporter that he had no injury - back, hip, anything. He played just 17 minutes.
On Thursday, Nelson had a pubic argument with Monta Ellis, giving the guard a dismissive wave as he walked away from the conversation.
The Warriors have lost their last three road games by an average of 16.3 points. They will be coming off a visit to Madison Square Garden and the full-court press of the New York tabloids, who eat up this stuff.
The Bucks will be rested, having covered five in a row with four straight-up wins.
Pick: Milwaukee
