 One Dog Today - Maybe
Sorry we haven't been around for a while, but we normally take a little break around All-Star break. This still is not a good time to play because of the effect the break has on players. But there is a game today that looks interesting. A cloudy situation over the starting pitching makes it a questionmark.
For much of the year Kip Wells has been awful. But he has come around and pitcher very well his last two starts. In fact, he pitchd shut out ball against the Phillies. Today you can get Wells and the Cards at +132 against the Phils. Since 1997 Wells has gone 5-0 against the Phils with an era of 1.33 and a whip of 0.910. His teams have been 5-1 in those starts.
Now, if Moyer goes for the Phillies I would pass. But most reports have the starter as Kendrick. Who? Kendrick. It is true that in a pitcher's first start batters sometimes have troubles against someone they have never seen. But I would take my chances here.
