A decent day on the diamond yesterday so wanted to take a look at the
early
games and the starting pitchers and see if I could find any winners
early.
First the starters:
The Orioles will play a road game against the Marlins on Tuesday at
1:05
p.m. ET, matching Daniel Cabrera up against Florida's Anibal Sanchez.
Cabrera has thrown five scoreless innings and has struck out six
batters.
Toronto right-hander A.J. Burnett is scheduled to take on Boston righty
Kyle
Snyder when the Blue Jays host the Red Sox at 1:05 p.m. ET on Tuesday
at
Knology Park in Dunedin, Fla.
The Tigers cross to the Atlantic coast of the state on Tuesday for a
1:05
p.m. ET game against the Dodgers at Vero Beach. Nate Robertson will
make his
third start of the spring opposite Dearborn native Derek Lowe. Jason
Grilli,
Jose Mesa and Edward Campusano are also slated to pitch. In addition to
Ordonez and Monroe, Brandon Inge and Granderson are among the regulars
on
the travel roster.
The Rays will host the Phillies at Progress Energy Park in a 1:05 p.m.
ET
contest on Tuesday. Left-hander Scott Kazmir will make his third start
of
the spring after experiencing two rough outings against the Blue Jays
and
Pirates. Right-handers Tim Corcoran, Dan Miceli and Juan Salas will
also
pitch for the Rays. Righty Adam Eaton is scheduled to start for the
Phillies.
Staff ace C.C. Sabathia has even more of a load to carry, now that the
Indians know they'll be starting the season without third starter Cliff
Lee.
He'll take the next step in preparing to carry that load when he gets
the
start against left-hander Jason Vargas and the Mets at 1:05 p.m. ET on
Tuesday at Chain of Lakes Park. Fultz, Brian Slocum and Betancourt are
also
scheduled to throw in the game, which will be broadcast on SportsTime
Ohio.
