Default friday bases

2-2 (+1.23 units) yesterday
142-116 (+46.66 units) overall

Split my three unit plays and split my two unit plays last night. The san fran play as the nice sized dog is what gave me my profit for the night. My lucky streak continues, I am amazed. Lets see if it continues.......

st louis -1.5 (-107) vs pittsburgh (3 units).............First of all I am surprised the runline is only 107 when the moneyline is 240. It almost feels like they are telling you the cards are going to win by one run exactly. I hope that is not the case. I do not want to lay those kind of odds at this point in the season. Even kansas city and tampa bay have won on the road recently, so anything can happen. The main reason for this pick is carpenter pitching for the cards. he is 3-0, with an 0.86 era vs the pirates this year. he is also 8-1 lifetime vs them. he also has a 1.08 era in his most recent three starts. This almost looks too easy. You might be calling me a sucker after this one, but I don't care. Should be a blowout. Zach Duke does not scare anybody this year like he did last year.

san diego -118 vs cincinnati (3 units)..............What a great series this shoud be as the pads and reds are battling it out for the wildcard with the philllies sandwiched between them. San Diego seems to be hot at the right time, while the reds are finding ways to lose. You have got to go with the home team padres as a small favorite here. Two teams apparently headed in opposite directions.

oakland -134 vs baltimore (2 units).............Does it seem to you that the a's are not getting much respect with these low lines? Sort of like the dodgers when they went through their winning streak. Joe Blanton (14-10, 4.45 ERA) will try to help Oakland get September off to a good start. Blanton is 6-1 with a 2.47 ERA in his last seven home starts. The right-hander improved to 6-2 with a 3.38 ERA in eight starts since the All-Star break by winning his last outing at Texas. He gave up three runs and seven hits over 6 2-3 innings in a 5-3 victory Saturday. Blanton hasn't allowed a home run in seven starts, a span of 45 2-3 innings and 201 batters faced. He's 1-0 with a 0.75 ERA in two career starts against Baltimore - both coming last year. This one almost seems to easy as well. Like I said before, I might be a sucker again. I am forced to take oakland at home at these odds.

atlanta +128 vs phillies (2 units)..........I have been pretty good recently picking when my phillies are going to lose. They are back home again where they seem to tighen up in front of the fans. The braves are having a down year, but you know they will be a pain in the butt for the phillies. My gut tells me the braves go into philly and win tonight. I hope I am wrong, but I don't think I am.

florida +130 vs milwaukee (1 unit)...........If florida would not have taken willis out of the game yesterday, more than likely they would have won. Marlins still a pretty hot team while the brewers are in danger of falling out of it. In a game that could go either way, I have to take the dog in this one, who happens to be plahying better ball right now.

kansas city +151 vs white sox (1 unit)..............Why not? Sox seem to choke and lose games they should not, while kc has won a few recently that they appeared to not have much of a chance. The royals can battle you at home and the price seems worth it. I only need one of my one unit plays to win to make a profit on those two. It should happen. I will take two, but be happy with one.

Good Luck Everybody!!

I am taking Saturday off from bases. Want to enjoy some football and not think about bases. Be back on Sunday with more baseball action.
