Very nice day yesterday. Even my two losses could have won as texas blew a 6-0 lead and lost 7-6, while the redsox gave up 1 in the eighth, 1 in the ninth and 3 in the tenth to lose 8-5. could have been a really great night, but those things happen. I got the confidence going again, so I hope to continue picking winners.
I am anxious to give up bases and concentrate on football, but it is hard to stop when I am winning. Lets see what we have for Monday.
cincinnati -119 vs houston (3 units)...............I have to stick with the hotter team, who is at home and is playing for their playoffs lives in this one. Pitching matchup favors the reds as well. Again, I am getting a real good deal only laying 119. I don't understand some of these lines. Maybe that is why I am winning. They are giving me some of them. I just see some pretty good value with this one.
phillies -123 vs cubs (3 units)...........This is scares me because everytime I jump on the phils bandwagon and bet on them, they fall on their faces. Phils trail the reds by 2.5 games for the wildcard and they only have two other teams ahead of them (arizona and san diego) and they only trail both of them by a half game, so soon they might only have one team to catch in the reds. Lieber is finally throwing the ball like he should have and is capable of all season long. The phils are pounding the ball lately and should be able to score enough runs in support on lieber. The cubs you just never know about. Actually both of these teams are so unpredictable, so this bet scares me. Something tells me this game will not be close. If the cubs win they will beat the phils badly tonight.
boston +112 vs yankees (2 units).............I have to admit that I made a mistake yesterday. When I took boston it was because I did not think they would get swept. I thought last nights game was the last of the series. Well, tonight is the last game and it is just about a must win for the sox. I don't care for wells at all and it scares me to take him. You never know what you will get with cory lidle either. I just have to take my chances with this one. I think the odds are in my favor in this one. I hope so as I am taking a team I don't like.
dodgers -118 vs san diego (2 units)...........I am not even going to give an explanation on this one. It is the dodgers playing and those who have followed my picks know I am riding them. Once again you get real good odds with a superhot team. Enough said.
arizona +106 vs san fran (1 unit)...............This is as much a against san fran as it is a play on arizona. I just don't think san fran is that good and their little winning streak they had last week was done with mirrors. I have always been a Livan Hernandez fan and I thing the change to arizona has done him some good. Throw in the fact that they made zona a dog here is what cinched my pick. Arizona also still fighting for the wildcard while the giants are almost out of it.
pittsburgh +185 vs atlanta (1 unit).............This play just makes no sense at all to me and I am not sure why I am doing it. Maybe because it is just for one unit and I feel like taking a chance. As much as I make fun of the bucs for being a horrible road team, I don't know why I am doing this. I just have a crazy feeling Zach Duke is going to pitch a great game and the 185 payoff is worth it. I know this game in all likely loses, but being up 30 units I think I can take a chance once in a while.
I can't imagine doing as well as I did yesterday, but I do like my picks and expect to have another winning night. I guess that was sort of a stupid comment. We all expect to have winning nights or we would not be betting.
