Only won three games last night, but two of them were my three unit plays, so I had a decent night overall. I will take it after losing four of the last five days. I have some I like alot again tonight, hoping the good luck continues.
dodgers -149 vs colorado (3 units).............Why not continue to ride the red hot team. I know they are overdue to lose a game, but I will take my chances. Maybe Maddux has new life in dodger blue. Pitched a great game in his debut and with that comes the confidence he needs to pitch like his old self. Throw in the fact that the dodgers are putting alot of runs on the board and I think it all adds up to another winner.
phillies -109 vs atlanta (3 units).............It is almost hard to believe that the phils are only 2.5 games back in the wildcard race. Atlanta is in danger of falling out of it completely. I really like Cole Hamels of the phillies. He has had some rough outings this year and some great outings as well. He had control problems early in the year, but he seems to have got that under control. He will give up some hits, but he is a strikeout machine as well. Hamels has had many more good outings than bad lately and I think he has turned the corner in his career. He was sort of forced into the rotation and has made what adjustments that he needed to make. I really think the phils have the talent to make the wildcard. We trail the reds by 2.5 and we get them for three at home after playing atlanta. I don't know why, but the phils are playing better since trading away those players. I see another pretty good outing by Hamels and the phils will score enough off Hudson to pick up the win.
houston -140 vs pittsburgh (2 units)...........Houston is also making a run in the wild card race, an playing the pirates at home is a big help. The bucs, although playing better, are still the worst road team in the bigs. Nice odds in my opinion to get the astros at home vs a very weak road team. Looks pretty solid to me.
cincinnati +104 vs st louis (2 units).............This is a very important game for the reds. They had their hopes up of winning the division with the cards slumping, but now find themselves 4.5 back and they are now tied for the wild card. So this is a big game at home for both races. The cards have now won three in a row, but I don't believe they have fixed all their problems, mainly pitching. The reds are capable of lighting the scoreboard up at home and I think tonight is a gutcheck for them. I see them outscoring the redbirds in this one. Throw in the fact we get a home dog and it make it a really solid play for me.
mets -141 vs san diego (1 units).............There is not much reasoning behind this one. I just think you have the better team, the team playing at home and they are a fairly small favorite. Win or lose, this is worth a small play for me.
angels -110 vs cleveland (1 unit)..............Weaver pitching for the angels. That is why I am taking this one and the only reason. Sometimes it can be real simple like that.
There you go, six more selections. Like I mentioned in yesterday's post, not sure how much longer I am going to do bases. Would like to start spending my time on football.
