 sunday bases
I have a busy day Sunday, so I thought I would post my plays tonight for Sunday. I will update my record on Monday. All but one of my games for Saturday is over and it is looking like I will go 3-3 (+0.60 units), but the tampa game is not final yet, but they have a three run lead in the sixth inning, so it looks pretty good. It looks like the four game losing streak is over, but barely. Lets try this again...........
ny mets -153 vs phillies (3 units).............phils outplayed the mets on Saturday, but the mets won the game. Lieber pitched a complete game but got the loss. Ryan Howard homered again for the phillies. This time rookie Scott Mathieson gets the start. He has been ok so far, but I think the will be intimidated pitching at Shea. Meanwhile mets pitcher John Maine is in the middle of pitching 17 straight scoreless innings. Something tells me the mets crush the phils in this one, but the runline only gets you +132, that is not worth it to me.
cincinnati +1.5 (-117) vs atlanta (3 units).........Well the reds appear to be back on track and have got the nl wild card lead back to 1.5 games. Atlanta is in danger of falling out of contention in the race, as they have dropped to 6.5 out. Braves are throwing Smoltz and that would explain why they are the mid sized favorite at cincy. I still don't trust the braves bullpen and any lead they get is in danger. They have improved their closer situation through a trade, but they still need to get to the closer. Even though I feel the reds can win this game, I prefer getting the run and a half and laying only 117.
dodgers +113 vs florida (2 units).........You have to respect florida with what they have done this year and with what they have done it with, but the dodgers are redhot right now and they are a dog. I cannot pass this up. It is that simple.
texas +106 vs angels (2 units).........I lost with texas on saturday and I am coming right back with them on sunday. They are both playing about the same. Texas has a winning record on the road, while the angels have a losing record at home. It is easy to think to much about games sometimes and I am just using the simple approach for this one.
st louis -121 vs milwuakee (1 unit)........It is unreal that the cards have lost eight in a row and they are in a one run game again tonight that they could easily lose. This team has got to snap out of this sooner or later. I am only playing this for one unit, but getting the cards at home at only 121 even when they are playing badly seems pretty good to me.
detroit +116 vs cleveland (1 unit)..........Again, this game I don't care if I lose, I have to take it. Detroit as a home dog vs cleveland. Call me a sucker, I don't care. I will try it.
