Greetings to all,
In a little slump the last couple of days, let's see what you think today.
Yankees - 1.5 (RL) vs D'Rays
The Yankees have outscored Tampa Bay 31-10 en route to a 6-2 record. New York will give the ball to Wang (11-4, 4.01 ERA), who has been equally dominant in three outings against the Rays this season. The right-hander is 1-0 with a 1.76 ERA in those games and defeated Tampa Bay 5-1 on July 8 in his last start against them, pitching a career high-tying 8 1-3 innings of one-run ball. Wang is 2-3 with a 4.89 ERA in six career starts against the Rays. He will be looking to win his third straight start Friday. Tampa Bay has lost 10 of 13 since the All-Star break. If Corcoran gets into trouble early in this one don't look for the D'Rays pen to bail him out with a miserable 7.66 ERA!
Tigers vs Twins (Over 7.5 runs)
When you combine Miner's pitching with a Twins team that is murdering the ball at a phenominal .345 average, I think 7.5 is a little low. Both these teams are averaging over 6 runs a game and the combined available pen average is well over 9.00.
Royals vs Rangers (Under 10.5 runs)
Two very solid pitchers in Hudson and Padilla on the mound here tonight. Padilla's 1.71 ERA is solid and Hudson at under 3.50 isn't bad either. Both these teams are barely hitting .250 against righties and just getting 4 runs across the plate on average. K.C. is in the middle of a 3-7 under run and have a pretty solid pen averaging 2.92 runs a game.
Blue Jays -104 (ML) vs A's
The A's will send struggling Esteban Loaiza (4-6, 6.75 ERA) to the mound. Loaiza has failed to last six innings in any of his last four outings, going 1-1 with a 7.71 ERA. The veteran right-hander was tagged for a season-high eight runs and eight hits over a season-low three innings in his last start, an 8-4 loss at Detroit on Sunday. Marcum has only made two career starts in the big leagues, but he`s been solid so far. He lasted just five innings in his two outings, but that's to be expected from a guy who normally comes out of the bullpen. He has left with the lead both times and should be 2-0, but the bullpen blew it for him in his first appearance July 18. Toronto is hitting a nasty .314 against righties and have the better pen and some revenge on their side also.
Comments, complaints, etc. always welcomed.
GREAT LUCK TO ALL TONIGHT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
