Default friday bases

one unit (4-9)(-4.74 units)
two unit (1-3)(-4.86 units)

overall (5-12)(-10.60 units)

at least i broke my 0-8 slump yesterday going 2-2, but lost my two unit play again. i don't think i have ever started a season this bad. i have been playing the pirates and phllies the past two days, so i am going right back with them again today. these guys are too good to keep losing, especially the phillies.

phillies -118 vs dodgers (two units)..............this team has way to much talent to keep losing. thank god the cards left town. the biggest surprise the phils have had this spring is gavin floyd, todays starting pitcher. the team needs somebody to step up right now and i think this kid will do it today. phils due to explode offensively too. i almost played the runline here, but probably should not ask a team to win by 2 when i am struggling for just a plain old win.

pittsburgh +105 vs cincinnati (one unit)............playing the bucs again. i look for this team to be half decent this year too and they are still looking for their first win as well. I have been riding them and i am not going to stop. also it is not like the reds are some great powerhouse that can't be beat

atlanta +117 vs san fran (one unit)...............san fran supposed to have a pretty good team this year, but how can this bonds things not hurt them. the braves just continue to win year after year, they make me sick, but they have also made me money. i am just taking them today because they are the dog. i just have a hard time passing the braves up as a dog. i did yesterday and had a winner. don't want to do try my luck again. i am taking the braves.

these next two are both for one unit each. i am just taking two dogs i feel can win. only need to hit one for a profit.

washington +130 vs houston
texas +108 vs detroit

not sure why my thinking is so far off so far this year, but it is. for those who look at my plays on a regular basis, do they seem to make sense to anybody?

i guess during a season, no matter how good or bad you are, you are going to have winning and losing streaks. i just happen to start on a losing streak. it will get better. i know i am not this bad.

good luck everybody!!

A little rebuttal for a couple of your picks. I'm bored so why not.

Phillies- I like this pick today and agree that Floyd had a good spring. The only problem is this kid has had a decent spring almost every year since getting a sniff at the Majors and it never has panned out in the regular season. With that said I still like him and the Phils here against a weak bullpen and even weaker starter in Tomko.

Pittsburgh- Always bet with the streak, not against it. Pitt's pen will lose it for them every time. Unless this team has a 3 run lead going into the 7th, they probably won't hang on, and maybe won't even if they have a 3 run lead. I like Pitt alot, I like their young arms and studs in the field. However, their pen just doesn't get it done. Take into account that Pitt is batting .250 against lefties this year and there is a chance Milton dominates them. Ah who am I kidding, in Cincinnati pitching doesn't matter this year. That park is going to see a lot of runs scored and today should be no different. However, Cincy has the offense to hang with any team that puts up 5-7 runs every day so it should not be a surprise if Cincy extends pitts streak at least another day. i agree, cincy probably won't sweep them, but i don't know if it will be today with Maholm on the mound.

Atlanta-Braves as a dog is a pretty good pick in my book. I say keep playing them with low juice as much as possible. However, the reason this line may be so low is because Matt Cain SF's SP today is a stud. He is going to surprise some people I think. We will see how he handles his first early season start. I still like the braves as SF lacks depth in the bullpen.

Texas-Another case of betting with the streak and not against it. Detroit is smoking hot right now and I am either betting them, or laying off of them until they show signs of coming back to earth. 15 team HR's in 3 games. Are you kidding me? lol. That is ridiculous. Don't look for their run scoring ability to decrease in Arlington that's for sure.

Washington-This one is a toss-up if you ask me. Should be a good game. Both these teams are so similar it's scary.
