| MLB Surprise Clubs I find that if you do some solid research going into the season you will be able to get some great line value on teams that others percieve will be bad. I try to find about four teams that may surprise and track them. I also look for a list of pitchers to play on and tto fade to start the season.
Who are your teams that you think will surprise early??

| Mariners have a good staff. Gotta go with Felix every time out. A lot of low scoring games at home (higher on the road).
Gotta take Santana and Colon when they go. I also like Freddy Garcia. |

| I agree completely with your take on the mariners and they are my surprise team in the AL...
In the NL I like the Pirates believe it or not, now I don't think they will win the pennant but look for them to finish with more wins they folks thought, led by Duke...
Also the Brewers will make a solid run for the title...

| The Orioles new pitching coach Leo Mazzone managed to get the Braves to the playoffs almost every year during his stay in Atlanta. Even when he was given only a bunch of inexperienced rookies. This is the sign of a genius that gets into the minds of opposing batters.
On the other hand the Yankees tried hard to bring in Mazzone. However, they eventually went with fan favorite Ron Guidry. Guidry was only a good pitcher when his fast ball was near 100 mph. He soon threw his arm out and had not the strategic ability to become a finesse pitcher in his final years. It's no wonder they wanted Mazzone. |

| DEEEETROIT TIGERS. No I'm not a homer as I'm not from anywhere near motown, but this team is going to surprise a lot of people. Do your own research but these guys are going to beat some ass this year. |

| I like Detroit, and they are in a division they can compete in but I just don't see the kind of run they need, I wish you luck as a homer but I think Seattle will have a better record when all is said and done. Are you taking them to win the division? |

| Making a small bet on them to win the division and over the win total of 70 just for the hell of it. Should be fun this season. |

| You know that is right! Leo, is the best pitching coach in baseball! If the Yankees, could have got "Rocking Leo" and didn't, it's there loss! Orioles pitching, will benefit greatly, from the combination of Leo and one of the best veteran catchers in the league!
If John Smoltz stays healthy he wins 20 games this year, his new pitch (change-up) is working great, I have seen this live in Orlando, this year! Go ahead and make a wager on the braves to win 15th straight division title! No let up from, "the great young players" ( I have watched them play 3 times), throw in great pitching, a few superstars, solid relievers and they edge an improved Mets team out for there 15th straight division title! If a solid closer emerges, (I think one will), they could go all the way! I will put a few bucks on it pre-season! I also like the LA Dodgers as a pre-season wager, to at least win the division! |
