I agree with you there. Even though 75% of the vote is pretty tough to get, I thought Rice and/or Dawson would join Sutter in this year's class.

On the other end of the spectrum, how was Gary DiSarcina even included on the ballot. He was a pretty good defensive SS with a .974 fielding pct., but he hit .258 for his career with 28 HR and 355 RBI. His inclusion on the ballot had me scratching my head.

I havent had a chance to look over Dawsons #'s but Rice deserves it 100% his numbers during when he played were awesome. Kind of like Carson on the Giants great linebacker but overlooked because of the time he played and who he played with

Carson was a stud. Don't feel quite the same way about Jim Rice. I was just never a big fan of his. He seemed to have decent production but something about him makes me feel like he isn't deserving. Although I don't think Sutter deserved it either. I wish the Hall of Fame was a little more prestigious. Just think who could be in there 20 years from now. Way to many inductees.

If you don't like how many MLB has yu must hate the NFL, they have announced a ton for today...Dawson and Rice both had much better numbers than guys that are already in the Hall, the problem is with teh guys who are on the ballot next year these guys will never make it now, which is teh tough part...

Yeah NFL has far to many as well. However NFL isn't purely a Statistical thing because most NFL players can't be judged by statistics. Offensive Lineman, even defensive lineman cannot be critiqued by looking at a stat sheet. Most of the secondary is hard to judge as well.

Too many in NFL but it seems players can get in by being known as a great, without really having the great numbers.
