This game to me is all about starting pitching. Hernandez is done and the Rockies will use him to finish up the stretch but that is about as far as he will go. He has been absolutely torn apart at home at 0-2 with an ERA over 14. Geer has given up just two earned in his last three starts to include a game against the Rockies. Hernandez has only given up two or less in 2 of his last ten starts and has allowed 14 in his last two starts against the Padres. Left handers are hitting just .188 against Geer.
The bats for the Rockies blew up yesterday but they are still hitting just .192 in the last ten while the Padres are hitting over .300 in that same spot.
