Tonight Tyler Clippard Makes his debut as a National in Washington's Nationals Park. He has been brought up to Replace Odalis Perez which means if he pitches well he just may earn a spot in the rotation. While playing for AAA Columbus this season Clippard has posted a 3.41 Era and struck out 59 batters in 60.2 innings which makes him one of the elite pitching prospects in the minors this season. The away team Giants are starting pitcher Matt Cain who is 2-4 on the season and 1-2 lifetime against the Nationals. His yearly Era is 4.67 and has been decent but the giants have lost the last three games he has pitched in. Look for the young talent to go lights out tonight to reserve his spot on this team and avoid the four game sweep at home.

I just don't see how you have the confidence to put money on a kid who has never pitched at the big league level before. The way I look at it; nerves are usually an issue in a big league debut. Plus, debuters rarely go deep into a game. So, with a pretty even line and knowing that the Giants have had the Nationals' number as of late, I'm taking the Giants tonight.
