With the MLB Postseason now upon us, I thought it would be appropriate to share some key playoff trends.
Game One Underdogs are 28-14 SU since 1999 (any round). Wow makes me just want to take every dog today!
Underdogs of +125 to +175 that are off a win are 52-42 SU since 1997 (any round).
Of the last 12 home teams that won Game 6 of an LCS or World Series to stave off elimination, 11 of them won Game 7 and the series. The only losing team was the NY Mets in the NLCS against St Louis last year.
Pitchers starting on 3 or less days rest have a 12-26 team start record.
Totals of 8.5 to 10 are 119-168 O/U since 1997.
Totals of 8.5 to 10 with any team that has won 3 straight games are 16-39 O/U since 1997.
Totals of 8.5 to 10 in the League Championship Series are 30-81 O/U since 1997.
Teams in the League Championship Series, after having won 4 of their last 5 games, are 27-56 O/U since 1997.
The first time that a total of 9 or 9.5 is posted in either of the League Championship Series, the Under is 31-9 since 1997.
