Rich in tradition and history, the Kentucky Derby is as famous for its amazing photo-finishes and unlikely victors as it is for its glamorous attendees. While you can't quite bet yet on who is going to be at this year's 134th annual Run for the Roses at Churchill Downs, you can certainly get your wagers in on who'll win.

Leading online sportsbook betED.com released their picks today on Odds to Win the 2008 Kentucky Derby.

Leading the field of contenders this year is two year old colt "War Pass" (+600) who is the reigning champion of the Breeders Cup Juvenile Championship. He hopes to match the feat of last year's Kentucky Derby winner "Street Sense" who also rode a Breeders Cup Juvenile Championship into victory at Churchill Downs.

Next up is "Pyro" (+600). Even though he didn't win a stakes race last year, Pyro did finish second in the Breeders Cup Juvenile to War Pass and second prior to that (also to War Pass) in the Champagne.

Rounding out the top three is "El Gato Malo" (+1000), an undefeated three year old gelding who doesn't have as rich a pedigree as the other contenders but his race record certainly makes up for any shortcomings there. He took his maiden win at Hollywood Park first time out last year and then was an easy winner of the Gold Rush Stakes at Golden Gate. He then followed up with an emphatic win at the San Rafael at Santa Anita Park cruising to victory by 6 1/4 lengths in what was, at the time, a track record for the fastest mile ever run.

Following up the top three are Monba (+1500), Court Vision (+2000), Majestic Warrior (+2000), Overbid (+2000), Denis Of Cork (+2000) and Crown Of Thorns (+2000).
