Default BetEd - The Line 8/3

We have a great mix of sports this week with two MLB games, Formula-1 Racing, and – that’s right – NFL Football! In baseball, the Kansas City Royals take on the Yankees in New York, and the San Francisco Giants travel down the West Coast to play the Padres in San Diego. Both games are on Friday. In Auto Racing, it’s the Hungarian Grand Prix on Sunday. And in NFL preseason action, it’s the Hall of Fame Game with the New Orleans Saints battling the Pittsburgh Steelers. In Hot Props, gamble with Tony Soprano on the Emmy Awards.

TRIVIA:
Barry Bonds hit 73 home runs in 2001, breaking the old MLB record of 70 set by Mark McGwire in 1998. Before the 2001 season what was the greatest number of home runs hit by Barry in a season?
1. 49
2. 41
3. 45
4. 34

NFL:
Sunday
Hall of Fame Game
NEW ORLEANS SAINTS @ PITTSBURGH STEELERS

The New Orleans Saints and Pittsburgh Steelers kick off the NFL preseason schedule with the annual Hall of Fame Game this Sunday.
The Hall of Fame Game at Fawcett Stadium in Canton, Ohio, takes place the day after Gene Hickerson, Michael Irvin, Bruce Matthews, Charlie Sanders, Thurman Thomas and Roger Wehrli are inducted into the NFL Hall of Fame.
betED Line: Steelers (-3)(-110) Total: 34.5

Bet the Hall of Fame Game!

NASCAR:
Sunday
NASCAR Nextel Cup
PENNSYLVANIA 500

The Pennsylvania 500 takes place Sunday at Pocono Raceway. There are only six races remaining until the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup begins. Drivers who are still outside the top twelve in points are running out of time to qualify for the Chase.
Pocono Speedway is a 2.5-mile, three-cornered speedway. The triangle-shaped track has three different corner lengths and bankings, making it very difficult to set up a car and to drive well.
The top favorites at betED are:
1. Jeff Gordon (+500)
2. Jimmie Johnson (+700)
3. Tony Stewart (+600)
4. Denny Hamlin (+450)
betED Line: Jeff Gordon (+500)

Hot Props:
On The Sopranos, there were few things mob boss Tony Soprano liked more than a “fat” envelope full of cash. betED is giving bettors a chance to pick up their own fat envelope with Prop Bets for the 59th Annual Emmy Awards, which will be handed out Sept. 16 in Los Angeles.
The Sopranos, which ended its six-season run on HBO earlier this year, leads all series with 15 nominations, including Outstanding Drama, and is expected to pick up several awards.
Who will win Outstanding Drama series?
1. The Sopranos (-200)
2. Boston Legal (+450)
3. Grey’s Anatomy (+675)
4. Heroes (+275)
5. House (+425)
