I had been playing on some of the UB Points tables (ultimatepoints, specifically), won a bunch of points (around 12000) and decided to enter in that 5000 point freeroll.

3rd hand, I got dealt A-K in the cutoff and raised about 6x the big blind. Two callers. Flop A J 2. Checked to me, I bet the pot, one guy folds, and the other calls. Turn is a K. Bet the pot again, get raised all-in. I figured him for the straight and made the crying call, he had a set of two's to beat me when the river came a blank. Bwaaah. I'll play in it again one of these days.

It sounds like those UB points games are pretty hard core. I guess any time real cash is not involved, loose is the operative word. It doesn't matter whether or not you play perfect poker; and in fact it's more frustrating when you do. I'd say the guy with the 2's would have busted most of our balls. But he had a big set of his own to call in the first place. Keep playing your game and the poker gods will chuck a bone your way sooner or later

Playing the lowest stakes that still counts for points - .25/.50 fixed limit.....you get 45 points for every 15 hands. The $20K requires 2000 points. So I played exactly 667 hands to get the coupon. I lost $2.54 getting there playing tight as a tic (well I tilted a couple of times). Not too shabby considering what I could win come Sunday.

i was looking at a freeroll on royal vegas is prize pool is 15k but it had rebuys and addons,its on tuesday the 6th at 20:00 est but registertion starts at 2o:00 on mondayunlike their 1k daily freerolls their only taking 2500 enteries...................ps i just noticed its a comp points freeroll ,sorry
