I found a preview on this game and it is one of my favorites for tonight...here is the preview will come back with more...
Kentucky’s Randolph Morris will be eligible to play
Tuesday when his Wildcats (10-4) open their
Southeastern Conference season against Vanderbilt
(10-2) at Rupp Arena.
The 6-foot-10-sophomore center has completed his
14-game suspension for NCAA violations he committed
while preparing for the NBA draft.
Coach Tubby Smith doesn't expect Morris to be a savior
for his Wildcats unless he can defend the perimeter
and the inside, hit three-pointers, score in the post,
rebound, pass, lead, motivate and energize the
struggling Wildcats.
Morris obviously isn't capable of doing all the things
Kentucky hasn't been doing this season, but he will
give his team something it hasn’t had thus far - an
inside presence.
Smith likes what's he has seen from Morris in
practice. He's been a force as a post-up threat and a
rebounder. Kentucky hasn't had a post-up threat this
season. As a result, teams have pushed out on the
guards and dared the Wildcats to throw the ball
inside.
Kentucky's problems are a lot bigger than one player
as it proved Saturday while losing at Kansas, 73-46.
The Wildcats suffered their worst loss of the Smith
regime, topping an early season blowout at Indiana,
79-53.
Vanderbilt opened its SEC schedule Saturday by
thumping visiting Auburn, 74-50. The Commodores turned
in one of their best efforts of the season by shooting
52.8 percent from the field and 60 percent from
3-point land. They also committed just six turnovers.
The onus will be on Vanderbilt forward Julian Terrell
and center Ted Skuchas to defend Morris in the low
post. Kentucky has hurt the Commodores down low in
year's past. The Wildcats outscored Vanderbilt by 24
points in the paint en route to a 69-54 victory last
season at Rupp Arena. Kentucky also prevailed at
Memorial Gym, 84-70.
While the Wildcats have won seven of eight at home
this season, they are just 1-3 as favorites. The
Commodores have only played three games on the road,
winning and cashing twice. The most impressive win
occurred in their initial road test when they upset
Georgetown as 4 1/2-point dogs, 68-61.
Vanderbilt has won five straight since losing at home
to Cincinnati as 10-point favorites, 92-83.
