FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – The Northern Arizona University men’s basketball team plays host to Montana State on Saturday in a game scheduled for tipoff at 4:37 p.m. The game can be seen live on Fox College Sports Pacific, FSN Arizona and Universityhouse (DISH Network station 9411). The game can also be heard on the Lumberjack Radio Network in Flagstaff (KAFF 930 AM) and Phoenix/Globe (KRDE 93.1 FM). The game is also available on the internet on Broadcast International - Home and KRDE 94.1 The Ride.

Bench Spark...
Junior Josh Wilson, who came off the bench for the first time this season against Montana, had started 76 consecutive games dating back to the third game of his freshman season before coming off the bench Thursday. He responded with 19 points and eight assists.

Big Sky Schedule...
NAU plays the second of two conference games at home Saturday before completing the first half the league slate with four consecutive road games. The Lumberjacks will finish with five of the last seven at home in February and March.

Strong Finish...
Overall, Landry and Wilson scored 16 of the Lumberjacks' final 17 points in the ball game, including 11 by Landry in the final 6:34 of the game. Landry scored 17 of his game-high 27 points in the second half, helping the Lumberjacks overcome a 12-point deficit. He went 5-for-11 from the field and 7-for-10 from the line while grabbing 8 of his 11 rebounds in the final 20 minutes.

Landry Approaching Milestone...
With his strong play this season, senior Kyle Landry has already scored a career single-season best 278 points for a 16.4 average. He now has 991 career points entering Saturday’s contest. He would be the 22nd player in school history to reach 1,000 career points with nine points vs. Montana State.

Television Time...
Today’s game will be televised nationally on Fox College Sports Pacific, FSN Arizona and Universityhouse (Dish Network 9411). It marks the eighth nationally-televised game on FCS this season and sixth from the Walkup Skydome.

Road Victories...
The home team has won 11 of 13 league games thus far. Only Northern Arizona and Idaho State have recorded all importnat road victories this season. NAU defeated Eastern Washington, while Idaho State defeated Northern Colorado.

Series History...
Northern Arizona and Montana State have split 78 meetings between the schools. NAU holds an advantage in Flagstaff 26-12 and won both meetings last season. NAU defeated MSU 86-76 in Flagstaff and won an overtime contest 92-84 in Bozeman. NAU has won five consecutive over the Bobcats in Flagstaff dating to a loss in 2001-02.

Home Cookin?...
Landry has recorded seven double-doubles this season with all seven coming at home. He is averaging 19.0 points and 10.7 rebounds in nine home games compared to 14.1 points and 6.3 rebounds on the road.

Big Sky Success...
NAU has won or shared the Big Sky Conference regular season each of the last two seasons. The Lumberjacks have won a league-best 26 games over that span.

Landry Earns League Honor...
Northern Arizona center Kyle Landry has been named Co-Big Sky Conference men’s basketball Players of the Week for the final week of the 2007 calendar year.

Landry, a 6-9, 220-pound center from Calgary, Alberta, recorded his sixth double-double of the season with 19 points and 11 rebounds in Northern Arizona’s 86-70 league victory over Northern Colorado on Sunday. Landry went 6-of-9 from the field and 7-of-7 from the free-throw line. He also had three steals, a block and an assist. Landry has scored in double figures in 11 of the Lumberjacks’ 14 games this season. He’s averaging a league-high 9.4 rebounds per game, and ranks fourth in scoring at 15.5 points per game.

Home Sweet Dome...
The Lumberjacks are 102-26 (79.7%) in the Skydome since 1996-97 and have won 26 of the last 30 regular season games overall in the Skydome. NAU is 5-2 this season in the Skydome and has won four consecutive overall.

Johnson & Johnson...
Matt Johnson had his first career double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds at Mississippi Valley State. He reset his single-game best with 14 points against Pepperdine.

History Making...
Western Kentucky represents the highest ranked team in the CollegeInsider.com poll defeated by an NAU team in school history.

Filzen In...
Freshman Zach Filzen started in place of Nate Geiser against Cal Poly when Geiser showed up with a 102 degree fever on game day. The true freshman scored a season-best 25 against Cal Poly and has started each game since. In nine games, he has averaged 8.9 points as a starter, while making 16 three-pointers. He was named the Big Sky Conference Player of the Week for his performance against Cal Poly.

Crazy Eights...
Freshman Shane Johannsen recorded a season-best eight points and eight rebounds against Haskell. He had totaled 10 points and six rebounds in his first six games.

Assist Leader...
Junior Josh Wilson’s second assist at the 17:06 mark of the first half against Haskell on a layup by Kyle Landry marked the 436th of his career to set the school record, surpassing Harry Payne, who recorded 435 from 1983-87. Wilson finished the game with a season-high tying nine and a school record 443 for his career, the eighth-best total in Big Sky Conference history. He is the fourth player in school history and 17th player in Big Sky Conference history to reach 400 or more career assists.

Game Winner...
Junior Josh Wilson hit a running three-pointer in the final second of the game to preserve a 64-61 victory over nationally-ranked Western Kentucky at the Walkup Skydome Dec. 1. Western Kentucky was ranked No. 6 in the College Insider.com Mid-Major poll, representing the highest ranked team defeated by NAU in the online weekly ranking.

Wilson Steps Up...
With the the top three scorers from last season graduated, guard Josh Wilson has been asked to pick up his scoring. He did just that in the season opener with a career-high 20 points against Adams State. He ranks second on the team in scoring at 11.4 points per game. He has also improved his career-high for rebounds two times this season with six against UMKC and eight at MVSU.

Geiser Erupts...
Nate Geiser has shown the ability to have big games with the three-pointer. He connected on five at No. 17 Arizona, including four in the second half to lead the comeback against the Wildcats. He has 19 games in his career with two or more three-pointers in a game, including a career-high seven against Furman this season and a Big Sky record 11 consecutive made over three games last season. He has recorded eight games this season with three or more three-pointers and made 39 over the last 13 games (3.0 per game).

Adras Among Big Sky Best...
Northern Arizona University Head Men's Basketball Coach Mike Adras ranks ninth in league history with 140 career wins. He is now 140-113 in his ninth season at the helm of the Lumberjack program.

Graduation Standard...
Adras has now graduated 27 of the 31 players who have finished their careers during his tenure, including 10 over the last four seasons. His teams have recorded the seven highest semester GPAs in the history of the program and posted a program-record 3.09 GPA for the spring semester in 2005.

Tough Schedule...
Four teams on the schedule (Arizona, Kansas, UNLV and Weber State) were NCAA Tournament participants last season with two earning a final ranking in the Associated Press poll with Kansas ranked No. 2 and UNLV at No. 19...

Season Rewind...
NAU finished 18-12 overall, tied for the Big Sky Conference regular season title with an 11-5 record and advanced to the Big Sky Conference Tournament Championship Game against Weber State. NAU made its fourth championship game appearance in the last eight seasons under Mike Adras. NAU played in the Big Sky Tournament for the second consecutive season and seventh of the last eight seasons under Adras. The Lumberjacks have won at least 18 games three times under Adras and the 23 Big Sky wins over the last two seasons are the most of any school in the conference.

Did You Know...
NAU led Division I in three-point field goal percentage as a team at 42.6 percent. It is the fourth time in school history that the Lumberjacks have led the nation in three-point field goal percentage. The Lumberjacks also ranked seventh in overall field goal percentage at 49.4. NAU joined only National Champion Florida and Texas A&M among teams to rank among the top 10 in both FG% and 3-Pt FG%. NAU led the nation in 3-point field goal percentage three times from 1997-99. NAU also finished fourth in scoring per game and assists.

Jayhawk Invitational Recap...
The Jayhawk Invitational features four teams - UMKC, Kansas, Arizona and Northern Arizona. Washburn (at UMKC, at KU) and Adams State (at UA and at NAU) will also participate in the event, as each school will play in two games. NAU went 2-2 in the round-robin tournament.

Filzen Earns Big Sky POTW...
Senior Nate Geiser woke up Sunday with a fever of 102 degrees. Head coach Mike Adras decided to start freshman Zach Filzen over Geiser. Turns out it was Filzen who was hot against Cal Poly, hitting 10-of-11 shots from the field, and 5-of-6 from 3-point range. Filzen was selected as the Big Sky Conference Men's Basketball Player of the Week for games played between Dec. 3 and Dec. 9 for his performance.

Filzen, a 6-foot-3, 185-pound true freshman from Northfield, Minn., scored a career-high 25 points in his first career start on Sunday, leading the Lumberjacks to an 85-51 victory over Cal Poly. NAU led just 33-25 with 5:36 left in the opening half before going on a 15-0 run to end the half sparked by Filzen and Kyle Landry. Filzen hit three consecutive three-pointers, while Kyle Landry added two layups along with a jumper by Cameron Jones to build the lead to 48-25 with 2:05 left in the half.

Filzen also had two steals and a rebound in just 24 minutes of action. Filzen scored 20 of his 25 points in the first half as the Lumberjacks raced out to a 23-point lead. Northern Arizona shot 76.8 percent from the field in the first half.

Filzen also played 12 minutes in an 83-74 loss to UNLV on Wednesday, hitting two 3-pointers. Filzen shot .750 percent from the field and .636 percent from 3-point range for the week. This is Filzen's first Player of the Week honor.

Gossner Foods Recap...
NAU went 1-1 at the 2007 Gossner Foods Classic, defeating Furman and losing to host Utah State in the championship game. Senior Kyle Landry was named to the all-tournament team with 28 points and 19 rebounds over two contests. Nate Geiser led the Lumberjacks over Furman with 23 points, including a career-best seven three-pointers.

Last Game Recap...
Senior Kyle Landry scored a career-high 27 points en route to his seventh double-double of the season to lead Northern Arizona to a 72-64 comeback victory over Montana Thursday in Big Sky Conference action at the Walkup Skydome. NAU improved to 3-1 in league play, 11-6 overall. Montana dropped to 6-9, 0-2.

Landry scored 17 of his game-high 27 points in the second half, helping the Lumberjacks overcome a 12-point deficit. He went 5-for-11 from the field and 7-for-10 from the line while grabbing 8 of his 11 rebounds in the final 20 minutes. Junior Josh Wilson added 19 points off the bench along with a game-high eight assists.

Montana scored the first six points of the game and shot 53 percent in the first half to lead by as many as 11. Montana extended the lead to 12 points at 40-28 two minutes into the second half. The Lumberjacks then went on a 9-0 run highlighted by back-to-back layups by freshman Cameron Jones. NAU eventually tied the game at 48 with 10:18 to play as the game featured five ties and three lead changes over the next four minutes. Landry and Wilson contributed the next seven points in the game to push the lead to 62-55 and NAU never trailed again in the ball game.

Overall, Landry and Wilson scored 16 of the Lumberjacks' final 17 points in the ball game, including 11 by Landry in the final 6:34 of the game.

Montana had four players in double figures led by 15 points by Matt Martin off the bench. Ryan Staudacher scored 14 aided by a game-high four three-points. Andrew Straight added 12 points and 8 rebounds, while Jordan Hasquet had 10 points and nine rebounds in the contest.

NAU had a season-low eight turnovers in the game, while forcing 17 from the Grizzlies.
