The Ohio State Buckeyes are surrounded by controversy when they face off against the Arkansas Razorbacks in the Sugar Bowl. The latest college football odds for this bowl game has The Buckeyes listed as 3.5 point favorites with the total set at 56.5

This game did not need the extra hype as the No. 6 ranked Ohio State Buckeyes and the No. 8 ranked Arkansas Razorbacks have plenty to play for in this big BCS game, but then the news broke about the Ohio State football program.

La Salle Posey, Solomon Thomas along with quarterback Terrelle Pryor, running back Dan Herron and offensive lineman Mike Adams – were accused of receiving improper benefits in 2009. The players sold shoes and jerseys, Gold Pants (which players receive if – and only if – they defeat rival Michigan) and several 2008 Big Ten championship rings. They will be suspended for five games next year, but will play in the Sugar Bowl. Despite the suspensions it has been reported that all of the players will return to school next year.

The Arkansas Razorbacks don’t have as many distractions but will have plenty of reasons to be focused on this game. Superstar quarterback Ryan Mallett leads an explosive offense that can put up points against any defense in the country.

Mallett has looked great under the offensive play calling of head coach Bobby Petrino. Petrino likes a fast paced attack that jumps on the scoreboard early and often. Running back Knile Davis has also provided some punch in the backfield.

The Buckeyes are 0-5 ATS in their last five games against the SEC and appeared to be cursed against one of the best conferences in all of college football.

The Razorbacks are 13-3 ATS in their last 16 games following a win and 16-5 ATS when facing a team with a winning record. This game could come down to the waning minutes and taking the points and the Hogs is the best bet for the Sugar Bowl.
