The TCU Horned Frogs will look for some respect from the college football world when they battle the Wisconsin Badgers in the Rose Bowl. The latest college football odds for this bowl game have the Horned Frogs listed as three point favorites with the total set at 58.5 which is a bit surprising.
The reason the line is such a surprise is because the Wisconsin Badgers are one of the best teams in college football and playing some of their best football heading into this game. The Badgers finished the season on a seven game winning streak and scored over 70 points on two occasions. However the TCU Horned Frogs have yet to lose a game on the season.
They are the third ranked team in the nation and posted their second consecutive undefeated regular season, and are making their second appearance in a BCS game.
The defense of the Horned Frogs is amazing and they have as many as seven players that could play in the NFL. The TCU defense led the nation in total yards allowed (215.4) for the third straight season and also ranked first in scoring (11.4), passing (126.3), fewest first downs allowed per game (11.3), opponent third-down percentage (21.9) and three-and-outs forced per game (6.4). Those are amazing numbers that should not be ignored for this contest.
On offense quarterback Andrew Dalton is experienced and has some BCS experience. He leads an offense that ranked fourth nationally in scoring (43.3), eighth in rushing (261.2), and ninth in total offense (491.5). Dalton was named MWC Offensive Player of the Year and threw for a career-high 2,638 yards with 26 touchdowns. The Badgers will have their hands full with this team.
The Horned Frogs are 7-1 ATS in their last eight games as a favorite of 0.5-3.0 and 4-1 ATS in their last five games as a favorite.
The Horned Frogs make a strong case for a share of the National Championship.
