The high powered offense of Oklahoma State takes to the road on Friday in a game against Troy. The last time a team from the Big 12 traveled to Troy they were upset as Missouri lost to Troy 24-14 in 2004. The Cowboys come into the game at 1-1 while Troy is off to an 0-2 start.
SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Oklahoma State on the Road.
Troy opened with consecutive road games for the first time since 2003, both against nationally-ranked foes Arkansas and Florida. Troy will play its home-opener against a Big 12 school for the second time in four years. Since the start of the 2001 season, the Trojans are 13-3 at home against members of the Sun Belt and 11-1 at home against non-Sun Belt teams. Troy is 1-12 against nationally-ranked opponents since moving to Division I in 2001, most of those games on the road. They are 1-8 all-time against teams from the Big 12 and most of those have been on the road.
Oklahoma State has an explosive offense but they are dealing with injuries. Running back Dantrell Savage has a groin injury and backup Julius Crosslin has a sprained knee. Quarterback Bobby Reid has also been dealing with knee and ankle problems. Backup Zac Robinson may see time again this week. He threw for 250 yards and three TD’s in the win over Florida Atlantic last week. Receiver Adarius Bowman had six catches for 135 yards and two TD’s. “This is a good challenge for us and we are looking forward to it,” said OSU head coach Mike Gundy. “We need to do better on the road. We said that before the year and we didn’t play well at Georgia and this is a good challenge for us to play well down at Troy. I would say they will be fired up. I would say that they will be rocking and rolling down there.”
