Opening Line: Ohio State -4.5 , Total 49
The Big 10 title and a berth in the Rose Bowl will be on the line Saturday as #23 Michigan hosts #7 Ohio State. Both teams come into the game off losses. Ohio State had their perfect season ruined by Illinois last week while Michigan was routed by Wisconsin. SBG Global reports that early college football betting has the public taking Ohio State on the Road.
Ohio State had won 20 straight conference games before the loss to Illinois. There is no time for sympathy though as the Buckeyes will try and beat their main rival. "After losing on Saturday, we all apologized to the seniors," Ohio State sophomore wide receiver Brian Hartline said. "Now, this is the Michigan game and it is make or break. ...You come to Ohio State to play against Michigan." Ohio State has won the last three games against Michigan and head coach Jim Tressel is 5-1 against the Wolverines. "(The atmosphere at Michigan) is loud, you can feel the electricity in the air," Tressel said. "The first time I was ever a part of the Ohio State-Michigan game was in '83, as an assistant coach, and, shoot, I can't tell you anything that happened in the first quarter. ... I was just taken by the electricity."
SBG Global Current Line: Ohio State -3.5 , Total 48
Michigan head coach Lloyd Carr could be coaching his final game against Ohio State as most people believe he will step down at the end of the season. Michigan may be without two of their stars on Saturday. Quarterback Chad Henne and running back Mike Hart are both questionable. Henne has been adequately replaced by freshman Ryan Mallett but replacing Mike Hart has not been easy. He has missed three of the last four games for Michigan. "I think our guys have fought through a lot of issues, particularly on the injury front," Carr said. "We've had a lot of different guys in the course of this season step in and fill the breach and compete and do the things that would help us to win." Michigan may find it difficult to score regardless of who plays. Ohio State leads the nation in scoring defense at 11.4 points per game. They are second in pass defense and in total defense.
