Opening Line: Purdue – 9.5 , Total 71
A high scoring game should be on tap Wednesday as Central Michigan and Purdue face each other in the Motor City Bowl. Purdue won this year against Central Michigan 45-22 at home but that was early in the season. Purdue collapsed down the stretch while Central Michigan played very well late in the season to win the MAC title. SBG Global reports that early college football betting has the public taking Purdue at Home.
Central Michigan has an offense led by sophomore quarterback Dan LeFevour. He threw for over 3,000 yards this season and also ran for over 1,000. He has talented wide receivers in Bryan Anderson and Antonio Brown. The Chippewas win by outscoring teams. Their defense gives up a ton of points, so the offense must score to win games. The Chippewas defense gave up an average of 36 points per game.
SBG Global Current Line: Purdue – 7.5 , Total 71.5
Purdue should be able to put up points in this game but how motivated they will be is a question mark. The Boilermakers lost five of their last seven games but they do have an offense led by quarterback Curtis Painter who threw for 26 touchdown passes. They also have a solid tight end in Dustin Keller and exciting return man Dorien Bryant. Purdue’s defense is not much better than Central Michigan’s. Purdue at least could force turnovers though as they forced 27 turnovers this season.
Central Michigan won last year’s Motor City Bowl as they routed Middle Tennessee State 31-14. They should get a much stiffer test against Purdue.
