The 11th ranked Louisville Cardinals will look to keep their high-powered offense in gear on Thursday night as they host Middle Tennessee State. New head coach Steve Kragthorpe had the Cardinals rolling last week against Murray State and more is expected this week against a weak Middle Tennessee team. "A lot of people thought we were going to have a drop-off after we swapped coaches," said senior wide receiver Harry Douglas "We just wanted to come out here and show everybody what we could do and get better as a football team." SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Louisville at home.
Brian Brohm threw it all over the field in the opener hitting Douglas twice on long TD passes. The Cardinals' 73 points were their most since scoring 79 against Ogden in 1926. "Brian was very sharp. He's a surgeon out there," Kragthorpe said. "He gets us in the right play and he was very sharp from a mental standpoint, in total command." Brohm finished 16 of 21 passes for 375 yards and four touchdowns. "We really didn't show a lot of our offensive package today," Brohm said. "I thought we executed well on offense. We still have a lot of things to work on for improvement.
