Opening Line: Memphis -2.5, Total 59.5

Memphis will be playing with heavy hearts on Tuesday as Taylor Bradford; a backup defensive lineman on the team was shot and killed Sunday night. "Our entire football team is deeply saddened by the loss of Taylor," said head coach Tommy West, "He was well respected and a popular member of our team. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family." A moment of silence will be held in Bradford’s honor before the kickoff on Tuesday. "There's going to be a 3 1/2-hour block where we have to have our minds on business, as hard as it is," Memphis coach Tommy West said. The team voted to play the game on Tuesday night as scheduled against Marshall. "I think we've got to do a good job with them," West said "They know that they made that decision. Can we do that? We'll see. I don't know." SBG Global reports that early betting has the public taking the favored Memphis at Home.

"Our hearts and prayers go out to the young man's family and the Memphis community for this tragedy," Marshall officials said, "It's just a terrible circumstance. We hope the best for them through a tough time."

Marshall will be coming into the game at 0-4 and an injured football team. "We do look a little bit like a M.A.S.H. unit," coach Mark Snyder said, "The injury bug really stung us." The Thundering Herd lost C-USA Defensive Player of the Year Albert McClellan for the season and things got worse from there as defensive tackle Montel Glasco is out for the year. Defensive end John Jacobs, linebacker Josh Johnson, defensive tackle Shane Moore and safety Aaron Johnson have also had injuries. Marshall ranks next to last in the nation in rushing defense and 115th in scoring defense. They are allowing 263 yards on the ground and 41.8 points per game. It could be a high scoring game because the Marshall offense is 67th in the nation with an average of 380 yards and 18.8 points per game this season. Memphis has a defense that is giving up points in bunches as well.
