#1 LSU will try and stay at the top of the polls as they travel to Mississippi to take on the Rebels. "We enjoy the position. It certainly is a compliment to our team,' said LSU coach Les Miles, "It doesn't relieve us, certainly, of the responsibility to play this Saturday and thereafter. We appreciate it, but we've got more opponents.” Mississippi has not done well against LSU recently, as the Rebels have lost five straight to the Tigers. Mississippi has a 10-game losing streak against ranked teams overall. SBG Global reports that early college football betting has the public taking LSU on the Road.
Last year LSU had all kinds of trouble against Mississippi but was able to prevail 23-20 in overtime. Running back BenJarvus Green-Ellis had 96 yards rushing and a score in the game last year. "They are coming to our house, and we felt that we did not make the play on the final play last year to beat them," Mississippi coach Ed Orgeron said. "... It is a CBS nationally televised game with the No. 1 team in the country coming in, and I know we will be ready for the challenge and I cannot wait to play them." The question for the Rebels is can they score? LSU is allowing only 66 rushing yards per game and 236.8 yards per game.
