8/27 -Sean Glennon will be Virginia Tech’s starting quarterback this year while sophomore Tyrod Taylor redshirts.

8/19 - Redshirt junior Kevin Craft will start at quarterback for UCLA in its season opener against No. 18 Tennessee.

Jordan Steffy was picked to start at quarterback for Maryland in the season opener against Delaware by coach Ralph Friedgen on Monday.

8/18 -2008 Pac 10 Preview -The Pac 10 has always been one of the best conferences in the country led by the powerhouse USC Trojans. This year other teams have risen up to make the Pac 10 a superior conference. Teams that go on the road to the west coast will soon find out that the Pac 10 should not be taken lightly.

8/12 - 2008 Big 12 North Preview - The Big Twelve North is out to prove they can play with the conference rivals from the south. Which once was a conference dominated by the southern teams things have begun to change. Kansas and Missouri lead a talented North that is making other people take notice outside the Big Twelve.

2008 Big Twelve South Preview - The Big 12 has always lived in the shadow of the SEC when it came to being the best conference in college football. They are ready to prove the world wrong this year. The powerhouses have re-loaded and have their eye on the BCS championship with some of the tough teams in the country in Texas and Oklahoma.

8/11 - UCLA quarterback Ben Olson broke his foot and will be sidelined for at least two months. A decision on whether he will have surgery is expected to be made in a few days. Kevin Craft, a junior college transfer, and redshirt freshman Chris Forcier are expected to compete for the Bruins’ starting job.

8/5 - 2008 Big Ten Prediction - The Big Ten has sent a representative to the championship game plenty of times in recently but the end result has never been a good . They have been under scrutiny for a cupcake schedule and getting a shot at the big game, but this year they boast one of the deepest conference’s in the country.

2008 ACC Coastal Division Preview - The ACC is one of the greater conferences in the country and the ACC Coastal division has the overall ACC Champion in the Virginia Tech Hokies. Can they repeat? Maybe, but they will have five other teams in the coastal looking to knock them off the block. Virginia, Miami, and even North Carolina look to take over this year as the latest team to rule the roost.

8/1 - 2008 Atlantic Coast Conference Preview - The ACC has quickly become one of the powerhouse conferences in the south east just trailing the best conference in the SEC. The Atlantic division of the ACC always puts forth some of the best teams in college football.

7/29 Arrests cloud UK quarterback situation - Rich Brooks has spent the last eight months deflecting countless questions about who will replace Andre Woodson at quarterback for Kentucky this season. A week before camp begins, figuring out who will be under center when the Wildcats face Louisville on Aug. 31 is the least of the Kentucky coach’s problems. The arrests of quarterbacks Curtis Pulley and Will Fidler in separate incidents last week have taken the focus off what could have been a heated competition with Mike Hartline to fill Woodson’s considerable shoes. Pulley was arrested on traffic violations July 22, while Fidler was charged with disorderly conduct in Lexington on Friday.  

7/22 - The Sun Belt Conference announced Tuesday that it has signed agreements with the St. Petersburg Bowl, the Papajohns.com Bowl and the PetroSun Independence Bowl 

7/17 - Florida safeties Dorian Munroe and John Curtis will miss the upcoming season because of knee injuries.

Munroe tore the ACL in his right knee and will have season-ending surgery. The junior played in 26 games the last two years and was a key contributor on special teams. He led the Gators with 13 special teams tackles last season.

Curtis tore his left ACL for the third time. The senior already had two surgeries on that knee, and coach Urban Meyer said the latest injury could end his career.
