College Football Week 1 Betting Picks - Super Seven

Every week the Super Seven will cover seven of the best games on the college football slate and break them down with great angles, trends, and selections. This week is the best week in sports as college football kicks off and the games are covered here. The games are numbered 1-7 with #1 being the best game on the board! Let’s get started!
1. Stanford +3
Thursday August 28th
Jim Harbaugh has made believers out of the Cardinal faithful and it started last year with the upset of USC and will continue this year. ``It was a great thrill winning down at the Coliseum. That's water under the bridge. This 2008 season is a whole new dynamic,'' Harbaugh said. ``We're halfway there. We've done half the work to put us in position to have a successful season. The standard for this year is to get to a bowl game.'' Getting points in the home opener is a situation we are always glad to take. Take the Cardinal and the points.
2. Over 73.5 SMU/Rice
Friday August 29th
This number seems really high for a college football game as it is not everyday that you see a total in the seventies. In this case it is warranted as these teams can light up the scoreboard and the defenses are nothing to write home about. June Jones has been known to do great things with an offense and will be on display again as this game sails over the posted number. Take the over with confidence!
3. Michigan -3.5
Saturday August 30th
The wolverines are anxious to get into action after what surely was a disappointing year. In comes new head coach Rich Rodriquez and he will work hard to make sure that Michigan does not come out flat or take anyone lightly after what happened last year to Appalachian St. Over the last three years the Wolverines are 5-1 against the number when installed as a favorite of 3.5 to 10 points and will start the year off with a big win.
4. Clemson -5.5
Saturday August 30th
This Saturday prime time special will have all of the excitement in a good game as Alabama takes on Clemson in Atlanta. Alabama is making their way to being an elite team in the country but Clemson is already there and should make some noise in the BCS before the season is complete. Alabama is 0-2 ATS as a neutral field underdog and are 3-6 ATS in non-conference games. Bama backers have been burned overall as they are just 8-15 ATS in the last 23 lined games. Clemson starts the year off right with a big win!
5. East Carolina +10
Saturday August 30th
Another home underdog cracks the top seven with ECU. Virgnia Tech comes to town with a bright outlook on the season but this game will be harder than they think. The Hokies are 1-7 against the number when they play out of conference and ECU has been solid paying bettors at a 10-4 ATS clip in the last 14 as an underdog. The Pirates are going to have a great season and the odds makers have missed this number which will lead to a winner for us!
6. Oregon -14
Saturday August 30th
Taking a double digit chalk is not always the best way to go when betting on college football but it is here. The Ducks are locked and loaded and ready to go and will start the season off with a ban! Luckily for them they get a doormat in Washington. The Ducks are 6-1 ATS in the first month of the season and 7-2 against the number as favorites of 10.5 to 21 points. That is a good sign knowing they have no problems covering big numbers and will take care of Washington easily.
7. New Mexico +6.5
Saturday August 30th
Wait on this line as there is a good chance it will be bet up to seven around kickoff. This game will be close and don’t be surprised if the Lobo’s get the win outright on the field. New Mexico is known for its quick starts as they are 5-1 ATS in the first month of the season and TCU is just 18-22 ATS as road favorites. New Mexico is a solid bet in week one!
