Tennessee will be trying for their 17th win of the season on Tuesday night as they take on Kentucky. If the Volunteers win it will be their best start in school history. The 2000-2001 team also started 16-1 but then lost their next game. Tennessee is ranked #3 in the country but to keep that high spot they will have to win at Rupp Arena where they have had very little success.
SBG Global reports that early NCAA Basketball betting has the public taking Kentucky at Home.
Last year Kentucky beat Tennessee 76-57. It was the 10th win in 11 games for the Wildcats in the series. "The fact that we get to go to Rupp and play on ESPN is tremendous," Tennessee head coach Bruce Pearl said, "But it's our job to take advantage of it. We've got to be able to prove that we can play on the road and in front of a television audience." Tennessee was impressive on Saturday as they beat Ohio State 74-69 in a nationally televised game. JaJuan Smith had 15 points and Chris Lofton had 13. Tennessee is fifth in the nation, scoring 85.6 points per game. "They have great depth," Kentucky coach Billy Gillispie said. "They have a very good roster. It is a very complete roster and they have good players at every position. They have back-ups at each position that are very capable.”
