Things keep getting worse for the Indiana Hoosiers. If it was not bad enough having to deal with the Kelvin Sampson situation, the team now has to deal with forward D.J. White’s injury. White suffered a sprained knee in Saturday’s 80-61 win over Michigan State. White is averaging 17.1 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. "You're not going to replace D.J. with one guy," Sampson said. "It would take an unbelievable, collective team effort." SBG Global reports that early NCAA Basketball betting has the public taking Indiana at Home.
Indiana will have to rely upon freshman Eric Gordon who is leading the Big 10 in scoring at 21.7 points per game. It will be a tough game for the Hoosiers considering Purdue has won 11 straight. They are coming off a 71-56 win at Northwestern on Saturday as freshman E'Twaun Moore had a season-high 28 points. "He's just a good basketball player," head coach Matt Painter said. "He's able to be efficient and take his time. He doesn't get in a hurry too much. He's a shot-maker. He shoots pull-ups, he shoots floaters, he shoots 3s. He's an all-around player." The Boilermakers are playing great under Painter and only figure to get better. Their leading scorers are all freshmen or sophomores. Last year the Boilermakers lost at Indiana 85-58 but many of Purdue’s current players were not even on the team for that loss.
Purdue has not won at Indiana in almost 10 years. If they could win on Tuesday night it would give them big tiebreaking edges in the conference over Wisconsin and Indiana.
