SBG Global Opening Line: Louisville  -3.5 , Total TBA
Sixth-ranked Louisville takes a step up in competition on Wednesday night as they face UNLV at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas. The game could be a tough one for the Cardinals because they will be playing without center David Padgett who injured his right knee in Sunday’s win over Jackson State and may miss the rest of the season. SBG Global reports that early NCAA Basketball betting has the public taking Louisville on the Road.

"David Padgett's (college) career is probably coming to an end,” Louisville head coach Rick Pitino said, "We're all devastated for David and for the team.” Padgett averaged 9.5 points and 5.6 rebounds last season and was a big part of the Cardinals offense. "I've seen him fight so hard, be so determined to come back and help the team, so optimistic about having a great senior year team-wise and personally,” Pitino said, "It's real difficult to swallow.” Louisville is also missing senior forward Juan Palacios until December because of a knee injury. It is expected that the Cardinals will put Terrance Farley in Padgett’s place. Farley has four points and six rebounds in two games.
Louisville is facing a difficult part of their non-conference schedule. They face UNLV who has won 19 straight at home, then play BYU on Friday and either Old Dominion or No. 1 North Carolina on Saturday. "We did this to try and make ourselves tougher,” Pitino said, "It's going to be quite a test.” Louisville will hope to get continued production from Earl Clark. He had career highs of 20 points, 14 rebounds and seven assists against Jackson State.

SBG Global Current Line: Louisville -3.5 , Total TBA

UNLV has been playing superbly so far this season, especially on defense. The Runnin' Rebels have held opponents to 38.6 percent shooting. UNLV dominated San Diego 66-55 on Sunday. They forced 17 turnovers and held the Toreros to 36.4 percent shooting. UNLV has only one returning starter from last year’s 30-win team but the Rebels look good early on. Wink Adams is the returning starter and he has played well so far. He scored 12 points on Saturday to lead the Rebels. UNLV is trying to win four straight to start the season. They have not done that in five years.

UNLV and Louisville have not played in seven years. Louisville won 86-85 in the 2000 Maui Invitational.
