Duke will look for their sixth straight win as they travel to Virginia Tech on Thursday night. The Blue Devils lead the ACC and are the only team in the ACC without a conference loss. Duke’s only loss this season was a one point overtime loss to Pittsburgh. SBG Global reports that early NCAA Basketball betting has the public taking Duke on the Road.
Last year Duke started 13-1 and then lost to Virginia Tech. They will try and avoid tripping up on Thursday. "We're not getting ahead of ourselves at all," sophomore guard Jon Scheyer said. "We've been successful so far, but we have a long way to go, and for us, to experience the losses we had last year, we know (how quickly) it can change." Duke is running and gunning this season, ranking second to North Carolina in the ACC, scoring 85 points per game. They are third in the nation in scoring margin at 20.9 points per game. "It's been more fun just because transition basketball has been something that I've played my whole life," guard Gerald Henderson said. "Just getting out on the break and stuff like that, we didn't really do that last year, and that's something that we've added." The Blue Devils oftentimes get outrebounded but they play such solid transition basketball that it has not mattered. "It's tough for us to score just inside, and we're better when we're pushing it," coach Mike Krzyzewski said. "We told them, 'Just keep pushing it.” DeMarcus Nelson leads Duke, averaging 14.3 points per game.
