Look for ISU and their swarming D to come up with a couple of turnovers in this game and take care of a Rutgers team who is lost on offense and a special teams disaster.
Iowa State is 5-0 ATS in their last 6 games against a team with a winning record.
They are shading this line to give Rutgers some “home” advantage at Yankee stadium, but we are not
sure there is merit to the concept this time. One of the major rewards of a bowl
game is getting away from campus for a nice trip, usually to a warm climate.
Instead the Scarlet Knights spend most of their practice days right at home, and
there is also nothing special at all about a trip to Yankee Stadium for the game itself
– they were just here to face Army back in mid-November.
I think the tough schedule the Cyclones played as well as their rushing offense will give the edge Iowa State needs in this bowl game. Rutgers was far from impressive this season and did not have any real big wins. Even though Rutgers will have a bit of a home field advantage since Rutgers is only 30 miles away, the Cyclones will come out and show they are a better team who played a very tough schedule and win this one going away.
