Result: Loss
Western Michigan is certainly looking forward to playing a Big Ten opponent, while Purdue can't be too excited to be playing a team from the MAC. This will be Western Michigan's third game against a Big Ten opponent this season.
They fared very well in their first two games against Big Ten foes. The Broncos were only outgained 277-288 in a loss at Michigan, and they threw for over 300 yards in a 20-23 loss at Illinois. Purdue is not as good of a team as either Michigan or Illinois.
The Broncos have one of the best quarterbacks in the country that not too many folks know about. Alex Carder ranked among the top 20 quarterbacks nationally in yards (3,434), touchdowns (28) and completion percentage (67.2) despite missing their season finale with a shoulder injury, which he has recovered from.
The Broncos are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games after accumulating more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. WMU is 7-1-2 ATS in their last 10 games following a win. The Boilermakers are 0-5 ATS in their last 5 non-conference games. Purdue is 0-4 ATS in their last 4 games as a favorite. These four trends make for a 23-1 (96%) System backing the Broncos. Take Western Michigan Tuesday.
