Today's winner is Boston over Philadelphia. This is my HIGH ROLLER PLAY.
I admit it. I had Philadelphia in Game 1. Some would say that Boston was "lucky" to eke by and get the home win. However , I watched the opener and saw the tide turn in the final quarter. The Celtics overcame a 4th quarter 10 point deficit to take the game. It was due to Boston's Playoff experience and savvy. Kevin Garnett sported 29 points and 11 rebounds in the first game. The Forward finished the Atlanta series with 28 points, 14 boards, and 5 blocked shots. KG is on-fire. In Game 1 if this series, the Green and White shot a lowly 2-18 from beyond the arc. That won't happen again. Neither will a poor performance from a banged-up Paul Pierce. The last game also showed Rajon Rondo grab his eight career triple-double, amassing 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 17 assists. The Celtic's were one of this seasons strongest home teams, with a 28-9 SU mark, outscoring visitors by 7.8 PPG. Philly looked spent as they lost the first game of Round Two. I don't feel they have enough in the tank or between the ears in this situation after giving Boston a huge ego-boost in that last matchup. The Home team is 5-1 ATS the L6 meetings between these two squads. The Celtics are 8-2 ATS their L10 home games vs. teams with a losing road record, 4-0 ATS their L4 Playoff games as a favorite of .5-4.5 points, and 11-5-1 ATS their L17 overall games played at home. The 76ers are 3-7 ATS their L10 Conference Semi-Final games, 2-8 ATS their L10 games played as a 'dog of .5-4.5 points, and 8-21 ATS Their L29 games played vs. teams with a SU winning record. Take Boston. Thank you.
