Today's winner is Milwaukee over Chicago. This is my NL Central Home Run Winner.
Milwaukee manhandled the Central last season for a big reason… they have a huge advantage over most of the Division. Therefore they made a habit of thumping the bottom tier teams in the division. Last year, the Brewers took 10 of the16 meetings over the Cubs. This season, they started just where they left off. Milwaukee thumped Chicago 16-10 combined to take all three contests thus far. Cory Hart has been hitting the ball a ton with three round-trippers to help the club attain the 2nd spot in the league in HRs. Their 5.00 RPG is due to a lineup that is producing from top to bottom. Zack Greinke gets the nod. The RH is 1-0 on the season but when the hurler starts as a favorite, the Brewers are 23-3 his L26. He faces a Cubs squad that is hurting with a lowly 1-5 record and is posting a mere 3.2 RPG. The lineup ranks amongst the worst in a slew of categories. Matt Garza takes the mound today. The veteran RH just doesn't have what it takes to keep this game close. The Brewers are 10-2 their L12 meetings against the Cubs, 51-16 their L67 games played as a favorite, and 24-7 in Greinke's L31 overall starts. The Cubs are 0-5 their L5 games played vs. the NL Central, 1-8 their L9 games played as a 'dog, and 1-5 their L6 games played at home. Take Milwaukee. Thank you.
