Result: Win
Louisiana Tech has been one of the most underrated teams in the country all season. Nothing has changed in the Poinsettia Bowl as the Bulldogs should not be catching double-digits in a game that they have an excellent shot to win outright.
LA Tech went 8-4 SU & 10-2 ATS in this season, including 5-2 SU & 7-0 ATS in road games. Their 83% record against the spread clearly shows how underrated this team was all year. Three of their four losses came to really good teams, and by small margins. They lost at C-USA champ Southern Miss 17-19 as a 12-point dog, lost at home to one-loss Houston 34-35 as a 6-point dog, and lost at Mississippi State 20-26 in overtime as a 20-point dog.
TCU had another successful season this year at 10-2. However, the Horned Frogs weren't as dominant as they've been in year's past as this was clearly a rebuilding season for them. TCU only went 5-6 against the spread in all games this season, and their defense was far from dominant. The Frogs gave up 21.2 points and 346.3 yards/game this year after several seasons in a row finishing among the nation's best defenses.
The Bulldogs are averaging 30.6 points and 397.5 yards - both in the top 50 in the FBS - and have been even better since redshirt junior quarterback Colby Cameron took over for injured freshman Nick Isham five games ago. Louisiana Tech is scoring 34.8 per contest with 445.6 yards with Cameron starting. Cameron has thrown for 1,403 yards with 11 TDs and two INTs.
LA Tech has won seven straight coming in. The Bulldogs are 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games overall, 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games as an underdog, and 7-0 ATS in their last 7 games following a win. TCU is 0-6 ATS in their last 6 non-conference games. These four trends makes for a 27-0 system backing the Bulldogs. Bet Louisiana Tech Wednesday.
