On Monday the NCAAB Tournament Championship selection is on Kentucky. Game 614 at 9:20 eastern. Kentucky has won the last 4 times vs BIG 12 Teams including a pair of coast to coast win vs Iowa. St and Baylor. The Wildcats also have a nice win and cover in a neutral court game vs Kansas back on November 15th. In that game Kentucky coasted to a 10 point win as a 6.5 point favorite. While many will seek the revenge factor and take the 6 points we look at it a different way. Kansas shot over 51% from the field in that game and held Kentucky to just 34% and still lost by double digits. So the thinking is if Kentucky closes in on those percentages they might win even easier. Kansas is better now than a few months ago, but so is Kentucky. Kansas struggled in close wins over Purdue and NC. St and caught Carolina without their point guard or they may have lost that one. In their last game they rallied late to over take an Ohio. St that was clearly less aggressive late and appeared to be running out of gas. That wont happen here in this one as the Wildcats can go 9 deep and wear you down with their superior depth. Kansas has not seen the type of perimeter defense that The Wildcats will implore here. For some technical analysis we note that #1 seeded favorites have covered 6 of the last 8, while 2 seeds have failed to cover 5 of the last 6 off a win and cover. SEC Teams have covered 3 of the last 4 in the big game. Dogs of more than 2 that allowed 61 or more in the Semi final game are just 1-6 to the spread. For coach Callipari its a sweet spot here tonight as he can avenge the loss form a few years ago to Kansas who rallied to beat his D-Rose led Memphis team in over time. Look for the Wildcats to get the win and cover.
