I have looked at this game six ways from Sunday and a pick’em line should be about right, but when it is a tight game you look for reasons, fundamental reasons. Stanford will own the glass in this game and that equates to high percentage shots and cheap buckets, and in a tight game, turnovers and rebounding are crucial elements and both favor the Cards here. Minnys center Sampson is out as he has been, and their presence in the middle with their bigs is not as good as Stanford. With the Cards owning the glass and their guard tandem scoring 43 in the last game, I see a more complete team. A 3 seed against a 6 seed in this tourney as a dog, and a team who played in this very same preseason tourney who is familiar in this arena as well. Bear in mind Minnesota was just 6-10 in the Big 10 this year and lost 7 out of 9 games headed into this tourney.
